I have a number of juvenile Blackbirds (they will shed their brown feathers for black in time) who enjoy daily apple feeding and have taken to sunbathing on my deck. I noticed they appear to enter a trance-like-state, sometimes wings are outstretched. This afternoon this particular juvenile was just on the other side of my lounge glass in a happy state of sunbathing trance and I would have been a metre (3 feet) away laying on the carpet.
Trance definition,
Considered to be a half-conscious state, between sleeping and waking where the ability to function voluntarily may be suspended.

When i get on a bus , i let my mind drift , as i trust the driver to steer the bus along the route. If I get the feeling i have my camera ready and wait for inspiration to appear. Sometimes the timing is right , sometimes i see a potential shot too late. But that's life :)

As you look at this image with so many people relaxing so completely you may begin to notice your own state of relaxation by noticing your breathing as you breath in that special way you are breathing now. Breath after breath. Breath after breath. The more you breath, the more relaxed you become. The more relaxed you become, the more you can just let go and find yourself totally comfortable and delighted with yourself and your life with every breath.

Sonepur Mela is one of Asia's largest cattle fairs and is held in the Indian state of Bihar. The fair starts on Karthik Purnima (Kartika Poornima, the full moon day) in November and lasts for around a month. It begins on the full moon day as a religious Hindu festival. Thousands of pilgrims make offerings and take a ritual bath in Gandak river, near its confluence with the Ganges. Numerous tantriks practise black magic to remove the evil energies from the pilgrims and resolve their problems. There are also many holy men (sadhus) and religious gurus with followers in their own camps, praying, chanting and meditating. Spiritual activities are the main point of the fair for a couple of days. When all pilgrims are gone back to their towns and villages the religious event transforms itself into a large fair trade and amusement park which continues for about a month.
