A window in the machine shop of the former ACF Industries factory at Huntington WV, where hundreds of workers once assembled center-flow hopper cars. The plant ceased production a little over 20 years ago. I don't know when the last car came off the line as the company shifted production fromt his union shop to a non-union shop. This building is about to be remodeled as a trainig center for welders and robotics technicians.

Wachturm in einer verlassenen Kaserne. Im Hintergrund die Kaserne, im Ausblick das Übungsgelände und der Garagenbereich. 6 Jahre später wollte ich dieses Foto neu machen und fand den Wachturm nicht gleich. Denn die kleinen Kiefern sind jetzt große Kiefern und verdecken den Wachturm völlig.

Strobist info: Shot using two Elinchrom ELC Pro HD's. The first high through a Deep Octa and to the front set on a delay to trigger near the end of Steve's rep. The second on stroboscopic (I believe 8hz, 5 flashes over 0.6 sec shutter) through a standard reflector, gel'd orange, to freeze him at intervals during the exposure. Triggered using skyports.

RoAF's F-16B MLU M5.2R "1610" peforms a high-speed pass during the official trainig session for BIAS 2017. In contrast with this pic (www.flickr.com/photos/145665520@N03/36541555105/in/datepo...), here the aircraft sports a clean configuration. You can see that the pilot flying is very concentrated in order to keep the aircraft on a perfect track, while the pilot observing scans the airport ramp, full of spotters waiting to catch the aircraft on film. Shot taken during the official training session for the Bucharest International Air Show 2017.

To assure that everything works smoothly the bus drivers regularly are invited to a special trainig on a frozen lake in Lapland: two weeks in a comfort hotel with sauna, spa and indoor tennis.
Services also include a torch-lit excursion with snow mobiles, a visit to the local handicraft market and evening workshops about northern culture and cuisine.
