Various things have been afoot with my four new box trailers (and some of their trucks, too).
Two of the three longer B&M trailers, once debranded, had their original trailer pins snapped off and replaced with nails positioned further forwards and kept in place with hot glue. The result is not exactly child-safe, but I don't think anyone at home is too young to understand their potential hazards! The purpose of this modification was to make the trailers more compatible with the Tesla Semi, as seen here, otherwise the front of the trailer would bump into the back of the cab when the Semi tries to make a turn. The pin of the one shorter Poundland trailer was also replaced.
With the latter trailer, I discovered a new hack: after a botched attempt at removing the existing branding, I discovered by way of an internet search that soaking the labels in oil makes them easier to remove. Guess what: it worked!
Thereafter, I set about stickering up the sides of one of the longer trailers for a political campaign for the fictional Conservative Alliance, a new electoral pact between the two main parties of the current Erataean coalition government, the Conservative Party of Erata and the Erataean Capitalist Party, ahead of the upcoming Erataean general election early next month, in which the 510 seats of both the Assembly and the Senate are to be contested.
First, a layer of masking tape was applied to the sides to form an easily-removable, low-adhesive base layer onto which the final artwork could be applied. This was followed by a layer of foil tape to hide the masking tape, owing to the artwork produced being slightly undersized, and then the artwork itself, produced in MS Publisher and printed out from an inkjet printer. The printed side of the paper was then covered with clear tape, and the paper was then stuck to the sides of the trailer with a glue stick. Not bad for the first try, eh?
