An unusual residue of a previous snowstorm resulted in a snowy edge to "mark the trail" in Nelson Park (Sterling Heights, Michigan).
The most unusual aspect was not the nature trail markings, but the sun and blue sky, something that was not seen around here for quite awhile.
Not a brand new trail, but I was the first one to take it that day as evidenced by the unperturbed snow here

So far this winter in the Ottawa, Ontario region we have been blessed (says I--Dad, not so much) with 242cm (95+inches) of snow, already above, and well on our way to blowing out, our seasonal average of 223cm., though we'll probably get nowhere near the record set in 1970-71 of 444cm.
Bring it on!
(Sad news about the juvenile moose that's been haunting our area for the past few weeks: we found it dead this morning, apparently of starvation as it looked emaciated and there was no sign of predation, up on the Prescott-Russell Trail near our house. From the evidence, the poor thing had dragged itself the last few meters to it's final resting spot before tucking it's legs alongside itself and laying it's big brown head back over one shoulder. It was a touching sight, and somewhat surreal, but it would serve no purpose, and be in our opinion disrespectful, to post the photo Dad took of me warily inspecting the remains, which couldn't be more than two days old because we were along here Thursday afternoon.
So anyway, my love of all this snow is tempered by the fact that it is not a blessing for every creature around.)

Road plows are out early to insure the roads for the traveling public and local railfans are cleared and safe to travel. Here we find a Dodge County MACK truck equipped with a plow, clearing Walton Road outside of Richwood. Be sure to give these workers plenty of room to do their work and keep us all moving along safely.

The baby is back! Sailing the seven seas in style, too. Inspiration for this one came from a friend who loves anchors. Personally I think it's one of the best ships I ever built, one of the few that I looked up for accuracy - it's a galleon, but hopefully that was obvious.

Look at this beauty showing off like it knows it’s a big deal (because it is). The Rectaflex was a trailblazer in the camera world, hailed as one of the first single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras ever made. Manufactured in Rome, Italy, back in the late 1940s to early 1950s, this gem was way ahead of its time.
🔍 What made it special?
•The Rectaflex was one of the first SLRs to have a pentaprism, giving photographers a bright and correct viewfinder image.
•Designed with precision engineering and chef’s kiss Italian style.
•Limited production means it’s a rare find now—a true collector’s item!
✨ Fun fact: The Rectaflex was nicknamed the “Rolls Royce of cameras” by enthusiasts because of its premium build quality and advanced mechanics.
This camera doesn’t just take photos; it tells stories—and you can almost hear it saying, “They don’t make ‘em like me anymore!”

Part of a lunch time walk...
I like grafiti. I don't mind tags if they are done well. This one was nice and simple and seemed to lead somewhere, as they are two different sections of a fence. Once I got to the parking lot, sadly there was nothing...guess Snark left. :(
The beloved baby returns to fix the world's food shortages, one ear of corn at a time.
There was a time when I knew exactly what model John Deere this was (while I was copying it), but that time is long gone. Anyway, it was inspired by and built for my Grandfather, who grew up on a farm and still owns one today!

If Rolli can do digital screen backgrounds, why can't I? But I used the TV, not a li'l iPad. 8)
