Aspyn was having a lovely time, yesterday. She had the whole garden to herself. I think the others were either inside or sunning themselves in the yard at the front of the house.

Here, she was having a wee rest, having scampered all over the (long!) grass.

It was a beautiful day, yesterday. (I’m trying to be very positive in this time of such tragedy and pain.)

Happy Easter!

'Greek Tragedy' is a macro photograph of a poppy flower core.

Just took a short glimpse and it pulled me totally in.

You can feel the reminders of that tragedy but there´s hope all around....

What a masterpiece to build, thank you Serene Footman.

Let me stress that no flamingos were hurt in this photo-shoot and I love flamingos.

With the loss of 121 people out of 122 aboard, the loss of the wooden ship Dunbar had a major impact on Sydney. The wreck in 1857 is still the worst peacetime disaster to have occurred in New South Wales. It is remembered each year by memorial services held at St Stephens Church, Newtown, where many Dunbar victims were buried in a mass grave.

The Arctic Fox II took on water and was lost at sea off Cape Flattery early in the morning of Tuesday August 11th. There were three crew on board. Two were lost and one was rescued. I've had the privilege of photographing this vessel many times over the years at both Cowichan Bay and Fisherman's Wharf. My last encounter with her was July 28th at Cow Bay, when I took this photo and spent quite a bit of time watching the skipper and a crewman getting her ready to go to sea. Today's news was so surreal and sad. Condolences to the families.

I found this mask (and two others) at The Darkness Event. I did have to adjust the size but it was super easy. I love the creepiness of it with the sexiness of the hair and outfit.

Yes it is true...after several days of coming back to see how the Tiger Lilies were blooming with so far great results each day....BAM, i was in shock just as i am sure you are dear Flickr friends to see that some moron came along and snapped off the healthy stock of 12 magnificent Tiger Lilies.

We only get to see 7 of the 12 lovely lilies bloom.

So my friends this is the tragic end of a very beautiful thing.

Mother Nature has been wronged at the expense of an idiot.

For several years i had been coming to this area at Medway Forest along a river to enjoy and photograph these beautiful Tiger lilies though, June 2020 was the best and did present to us the stock of 12 as you have seen.

If you ZOOM IN to the bottom of this photo OR go to my previous Flickr posting, you will see first hand the broken stalk tragedy.

Thank you all so very much for your visits and most kind comments dearest Flickr friends !!!!

Have a safe and fabulous day dear Flickr friends !

A few of you asked to see the final images from my vacation in Moldova. Actually, a day trip to Transnistria, a renegade province since 1992. Expect documentary shots as I was told to leave my real camera in Chisinau and only take photos with my mobile phone.

This is a monument you pass by when approaching Tiraspol that gradually got extended with each new tragedy. First, WW II which in this part of the world was the battle between Hitler's avid ally Romania and the Soviet Union. In front of it is a memorial for several thousand Moldovans killed in the immediate aftermath of Chernobyl when they were called to seal the reactor. The steles in the middle are for the fallen of the Afghanistan war. Finally, there is a huge table for the "independence war" of Transnistria when splitting from Moldova from 1990-1992.

I was trying to do something for valentine's day, but it's hard to be inspired by such a holiday when you don't have a significant other. :p

So instead, I of course did something completely opposite.

"Our Lady of Paris"

A tragedy happened yesterday!

Milecastle 39 seen in the last light of the day. It seems strange when stood here with only the sheep for company that this was once a war zone with the attendant human tragedy. This shot was processed from two sepparate exposures, one for the sky and one for the land.

I'm off to Skye next week so it will depend upon WiFi quality if I'm posting or commenting.

These weren't my fries, but I still felt sad. I am not sure why, but I felt I had to document it.

Just a way down the road from us, a huge tree had fallen across the neighbor's fence and had to be cut away. The fence was pretty much history.

The Annual Corn Climbing Festival ended in tragedy due to the record-breaking heat wave.

The images were discovered in silky, net-like cloth that had been filled

with colored paper cut out into various shapes, leaves, tissue, flowers,

sticks rope, string, cotton balls and other such matter. I then took several pictures, transferred them to Picasa and manipulated the pics and colors until this image popped into my eyes.
