Looking southeastwards along Beijing's East 3rd Ring Road (东三环路) from a pedestrian's bridge.
At 19:00 the evening rush hour traffic jam is still in full swing, because the average driving speed is notably lower than walking speed. But, owning and actually using a car is a matter of prestige in Beijing. Guess which direction is "homewards" for most of these people?

Damn this traffic jam,
How I hate to be late,
It hurts my motor to go so slow.
Damn this traffic jam,
Time I get home my supper'll be cold,
Damn this traffic jam.......

Panorama of Bangkok at dusk with skyscrapers in background and traffic trails on elevated expressways and circular interchanges ~ Bangkok at rush hour with busy traffic on intertwined highway overpass
When you're in a hurry but no one else is. Sometimes you just need a crossing guard to hurry things along but as there weren't any available, you wait.......and wait.

The Ingraham Trail, leading 70 KM outside of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories Canada. During the summer months the road comes to a dead end at 70 kms, but during the winter months it attaches to an ice road the extends into the heart of the NWT, leading to remote diamond mines.
A poster on the wall of the BMW main plant asks how we explain our grandchildren what a traffic jam was. I only hope we won't have to explain to them what cars were :-)
This image was taken at a ramp of the Taipei Bridge on Minquan West Road in Taipei, Taiwan. Motorcycle as a transportation tool is very popular for the young people, because they can easy to go wherever and convenient to parking in a crowd city. Of course, the air pollutions and noise are still a big problem that bothers the government and citizen, so electric motorcycle will instead of the traditional style would be a good way of the development.
Sending my sympathy out to my Atlanta, Georgia friends from the huge damage the fire on an I-85 bridge did, just grateful that there were no injuries of deaths.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo❤️ ❤️
Baustelle, Stau und Regen.
Ein reales Foto, das sich in der Nachbearbeitung verselbstständigt hat.
Construction site, traffic jam and rain.
A real photo that has taken on a life of its own in post-processing.
Every bit as fear inducing as the most sinister real snake you can think of. Also I plan on using this title again at some point, because it occurs to me that it could be used for all manner of people that live in and around an urban area and things that can be found in the same environment, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, HSS!!!!!
A view into Istanbul...not sure what kind of routes some of the drivers were taking.... shot taken towards Laleli
Spring has returned to Unionville, just in time for some merchants and too late for others. And this road which you see will be dug up for a year starting this fall, how the restaurants will survive God only knows. Many of the patrons of the older restaurants are quite senior in age, not totally mobile and getting together for lunch is a big part of their social life. I hope the local business chamber has worked out a way to get their wheel chairs through the construction zone. Do buy take outs to support the restaurants during the road closure.

Back in May 2017 we moved to Upstate, NY from New Mexico. The day before we entered Texas there was a bad storm near Amarillo. It created such a huge backlog on the interstate and we got caught in it. It went on for miles! This was the line-up of trucks that we got stuck behind!
On the morning before I visited San Francisco, I had made a mental note of the fact that it was Friday and that I should get out of the city early. But I'd had so much fun that day and then spent extra time taking the "long and scenic" route trying to find the freeway that when I finally landed on I-80 towards the Bay Bridge I was, you guessed it, right smack in the middle of a horrendous Friday afternoon commute!
I spent the next two hours trapped with thousands of other cars inching along at 0-15 miles an hour. Traffic frequently came to a complete stop, allowing me to take a few pictures. I kept looking at the cars next to me and wondered if they do this every Friday, or, worse, every day!
I am so thrilled to be living in a town that has a grand total of two traffic lights! :)

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposures, then added a filter to make the scene pop.
