Shot this on the way home the day I got my Canon EOS R5 this was one of the test shots off the new camera, while at the camera store I also bought a new carbon fiber Gitzo tripod, and a Gitzo ball head to go with it, so had a great time with a new camera and tripod :) forgot to get a cable release while i was there so this was shot on self timer so it would not get camera shake from pressing the button , shutter speed at 8 seconds. I would like to note all my shots are setup in manual mode, I do use auto focus, but that is all, so it felt strange to use the self timer to fire the shot. Canons auto focus is lightning fast and works great so mostly do use the auto focus, it does have a problem with very low light focusing. so like on my 5d mark IV in very low light have to manual focus, A, three stop glass graduated neutral density filter was used to even out the light in the sky to the light in the darker zones, final corrections done in photoshop
the recent warm weather has really made it fun to shoot the night reflections, 2 years ago the river was frozen solid during the Polar Vortex of 2014. my same shot was from the middle of the river:)
As seen on a walk in London with a 'phone camera. Most usual forms of transport are covered here aside from the Underground!
Another step into the Dark series. I think this is in hamilton Ontario. Another hot day on the rockpile.
One more to go.
Happy Slider Sunday
From a distance it looks like a cathedral, but however it is the former long-distance transmitter "Radio Kootwijk" that maintained the radio traffic between the Netherlands and their former colony of Indonesia.
The "Cathedral" consists of concrete in which no iron or steel has been processed, so as not to disturb the radio signal.
The architect Julius Luthmann was inspired for the design by the German "Telefunken" broadcasting station and the Giza Sphinx, which can bee seen from the "front legs" that formed the entrance.
The "pond" in front of the building was the cooling water reservoir that the immense transformers and generators had to cool.

Trade & Change. In the globalised economy, everything interlocks. If the cycle is disrupted, whether by wars, pandemics or major shipping accidents, everything comes to a standstill and delivery bottlenecks occur. This photo is intended to illustrate a little what kind of logistical effort is necessary in the area of ports, as here at Bremerhaven's container terminal.
Handel & Wandel.

Crosstown traffic - an old favourite location of mine now taken for the first time with my Sony.
Love the possibilities of painting with light courtesy of passing traffic. Incidentally the blue lights to the left of the Brighton clock tower was from the Santa bus, bringing some welcome cheer to central Brighton.
