Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a red day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is tradition. As we all know, Red Lady just finished to set up her Christmas tree. She is super late : usually the Christmas tree is up at the beginning of December but this year is an exception. This delay is caused by a total lack of christmasy feeling this year ( blame it on the pandemic… ). However, the Christmas tree is one tradition Red Lady wants to maintain at any cost ! Even if she has to set up the tree at the very last minute, 23h55 on December the 23rd, she will do it !
Have beautiful day my friends ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Funny how that worked out now, isn't it? I have always liked the look of this house.

A bridal tradition to adorn the bride by applying henna to her body parts. This tradition remains an important custom among traditional families.

This year is different, but a good "different"...
After 2020 we appreciate more the time we spend with family and friends...
We invest in making memories that count...
A little set of Russian Dolls that my husband brought back from Moscow many years ago for this week's Macro Mondays theme 'Tradition" HMM!
Many thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images; they are very much appreciated.
Theyyam consists of traditions, rituals and customs associated with temples and sacred groves of Malabar. It broadly encompasses Hindu ritualistic tenets. The people of the region consider Theyyam itself as a channel to a god and they thus seek blessings from Theyyam.
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Tradition".
I tried to include two christmas traditions in our family: The first one is crafting things from paper (as you can see my youtube channel on paper crafting might still have to wait a few years... 😅) and the second one is the whole family taking a walk to a random tree in the woods to have a little celebration outside!
This tree is around 28 mm in height.

The "New Harbour" in Bremerhaven not only attracts many tourists. It has always been a meeting place for tall ships. Unfortunately it is very quiet due to Corona. Only the local ships, like here the historic cog, are moored at the quay wall.
Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric (pronounced /ˈ or fly Amanita (pronounced , is a poisonous and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus, one of many in the genus Amanita. Native throughout the temperate and boreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere, Amanita muscaria has been unintentionally introduced to many countries in the Southern Hemisphere, generally as a symbiont with pine plantations, and is now a true cosmopolitan species. It associates with various deciduous and coniferous trees. The quintessential toadstool, it is a large white-gilled, white-spotted, usually deep red mushroom, one of the most recognizable and widely encountered in popular culture. Several subspecies, with differing cap colour have been recognised to date, including the brown regalis (considered a separate species), the yellow-orange flavivolata, guessowii, and formosa, and the pinkish persicina. Genetic studies published in 2006 and 2008 show several sharply delineated clades which may represent separate species.
Although generally considered poisonous, deaths are extremely rare, and it has been consumed as a food in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America after parboiling in water. Amanita muscaria is now primarily famed for its hallucinogenic properties, with its main psychoactive constituent being the compound muscimol. It was used as an intoxicant and entheogen by the peoples of Siberia and has a religious significance in these cultures. There has been much speculation on traditional use of this mushroom as an intoxicant in places other than Siberia; however, such traditions are far less well-documented.

Soppresata - In a Polish family, Christmas Eve is a fast day, therefore no meat is served at dinner that evening. The Christmas Day feast features all the meats, usually centered around a smoked ham. However, the Charcuterie board placed on he dinner table before the meal is served contains dried and smoked meats, along with a variety of cheeses and olives. But the Soppresata is the star of that board that everyone looks for and of course is gone first. But, it must be sliced paper thin in order to be enjoyed properly.
My Christmas wish: I don’t want much for Christmas. I just want the people who are reading this to be happy, health and loved.
Merry Christmas to all my Flickr friends.

For Macro Mondays for 1/23 for tape. This is a fabric case for some reading glasses and to reinforce the edges, it is sewn with bias binding tape. Btb, this was not the picture I thought I’d take but it’s sort of dramatic— yes?… The size verification shot should be next in the photostream— this portion is about an inch and 5/8ths.

Mooney’s Barn is the only building in the Handorf district discovered so far which has similar characteristics to the barnhouses commonly found in many parts of north and central Europe. The property lies approximately 3 kms. East of Hahndorf in the Hundred of Onkaparinga.
The ancient Saxon tradition whereby man, his animals and goods were all housed under one roof, common even in twentieth century Mecklenburg, is a rare house-form in South Australia.
