My favourite vehicle from the prequels. I would've preferred to use technic axles for the legs to stop them bending but I've only got one of these in bley. There's ways around it but I'm sick of fiddling with it! I took me ages trying out different designs for the "eye", not sure if this is the best fit?

Update made to my Gungan energy catapult: added the "wheel" (AKA the battle wagon.)

Large ones were used for transport of boomas, and these smaller ones here were used to transport the catapult and its components, mostly.

Whenever I get the right pieces, I'll make it tan. But for now, light bluish gray has to do.

Finally came up with a design i'm happy with. I've always wanted to build the engines with that hot glow in the centre, but somehow never got around to it until now.

Falumpaset WIP.

This is a Work In Progress shot of my tamed Falumpaset, with a carriage which serves as a saddle for the Gungan who seats the animal.

Always wanted to take a picture with my AAT and some Kaadu :)

Hey everyone!

Took some pictures of my AAT moc irl

It looks very nice! The structure isn’t the best but it holds up pretty well!

Hope you like it! 😁

My first attempt at a somewhat serious animation in quite some time. Overall this took 2 months to film and edit and has been in planning for well over 7 years. I have only recently been able to gain the necessary figs and sets to complete this animation to my liking. Now that it's completed I plan on taking on some more comedic projects that are easier to produce. Expect many more animations this year from me.

Hello everyone! It’s been a while! Sorry I’ve taken so long to post anything on here, the amount of work I have has been insane! But finally I’ve finished the semester

Here is my latest creation! The AAT. I made the most interesting versions (the trade federation version, the CIS clone wars version and the CIS battlefront 2 version) it is minifig scale and it was very hard to make the interior accurate to the in universe tank, but I did it! Although I may have sacrificed some structure to do it I will show pics of the interior later.

The first picture is based of the concept picture of the battlefront 2 game that is why I put the battlefront logo on top, I tried to recreate it in lego 😅

The model has 820 pieces.

Measurements:

Length - 21.6 cm

Width - 18.4 cm

Height - 10.4 cm

hope you like it! 😁

Recently I worked on to mod Mr Idler's MOC. I tried to make it more accurate, based on a lot of reference images. I made a lot of changes to his desing and also made 3 different colored versions.

Instructions for all 3 color variants are available at: www.davescustoms.shop/product-page/armored-assault-tank-i...

Whenever new interesting bits become available, I feel like getting back to my old little SW gizmos.

First picture with the new light box.

Hey everybody! Here is the next faction army, the continuation of the last post!

Like the republic version, it’s made up with the vehicles I’ve designed to date.

Can you guess which faction army will be next?

Hope you like it! 😁

Hello There!

This is a MOC of a Trade Federation Armored Assault Tank (AAT).

As a child I always wanted to have the AAT Set 7155, cauz this was sooo amazing! Battle Droids were the coolest, right?! Roger, Roger!

But lets be honest: this set is definitely 'retro' but neither here nor elsewhere Lego didn't do a great job in modeling AATs. Regardless of that, I wanted to have one with this nice printed 30117 parts so I decided to finally buy an 7155 and build a MOC myself with all this precious rare tan parts :D This is my first version but I will do a rework/second sometime in the future.

The turret can move about 100 degrees to each side (yes, it cannot turn backwards atm...) and the primary laser canon has about 80 degrees of gun elevation in both directions. Secondary laser guns have 360 degrees of gun elevation and the main hatchway opens properly. There is space inside but no interior details so far.

Now, I really like what Lewis Kiwi, Droid Hunter, just_bricking or Mr Idler did, especially about the section around the front hatch. Mine is maybe a little to close to the AAT Set 8081. It might be slightly too large but I really like my primary canon. However, secondaries are too big and its a shame that the top hatch cannot be opened :(((

Also, I'm not so good at 'texturing' right now, by what I mean is 'making the model optically interesting', often seen through adding kinda suitable random stuff to its surface. That would make it look less 'clean'. So much on 'used future' there...

Anyway, I hope you like it. Opinions are much obliged here, tell me what you think! :D

The Trade Federation Droid Army is not known for its military sophistication, it simply overwhelms its enemies with mass-produced battle droids.

An important and often overlooked part in the war effort is the recycling of disabled battle droids. The low-cost materials which make the battle droid such a poor combatant also mean that they can be repaired cheaply and quickly before being redeployed into a fight.

The TWEETYBIRD is a one-man fast salvage vehicle, named not only for its colour scheme, but for the short arcing jumps it makes across the battlefield, as well as the high pitched whine of its sawsblades. Under optimal conditions, salvaged battle droids can be reclaimed and repaired in less than half an hour.

Since it does not carry any armament, the TWEETYBIRD relies on its speed, as well as operating in teams of ten or more units to discourage attacks against them.

Love the boomerang element. Lego needs to use this.

So I'm finally there with my STAP, actually a lot sooner than I thought. Just got the new 1x4 smooth curved slope in reddish brown, which really makes it for this vehicle.

Single Trooper Aerial Platform

A while ago, when I limited my Lego collecting only to the Clone Wars era, I always wanted STAPs for my Droid army, but the official ones just aren't good enough. Recently, @luca_s_projects amazing design inspired me to think about, how would I make it, so I searched a bunch of different reference pictures and started trying out concepts in stud.io.

You can see my final design on the first couple of pics. I made a some different color combinations and on the last 2 pics, you can see the first version I did.

Thanks to Luca for giving me such inspiration to build with his great MOCs.

The Ultimate Lego Droideka! It really rolls! Ok, it is a little bumpy, but it rolls a LOT better than the official Lego ones!

My updated custom pirate AAT tank, built for our @darktimesgroup Antolus l collab displayed at @_bricktastic 2024.

The story takes place in the early days of the Empire, and pirates take over some Trade Federation equipment, which they are using against the Empire.

I wanted to include as many of my own vehicle builds to this collaboration as possible, so I definitely wanted to use my existing AAT(s). As most people like it more and it fits the aesthetic of the collab better, we decided to use the tan, Trade Federation version.

The plan was to convert the clean original vehicle to a more weathered, older looking model, modified by the pirates. Since I only had the CIS colored version built before (2 of that), I had to build it from the ground up, based on my instructions.

There was some places tho, which I wasn’t happy with or felt outdated. So before actual building I changed parts in the design, like the main barrel and it’s attachment point, the side guns and also the big bottom dish part. Now I’m really happy with the whole design, more on that later…

Weathering and making the small additions was also really fun. I had some real military photos in mind as inspiration, like the machine gun on top at the hatch, the bags hanging on the turret, the rollbars and additional armor plates.

My version of the rocket droid "jetpack" - a lot closer to reference, in my opinion. You can even orientate the rockets in any position you want.

I couldn't resist the temptation of having this in dark orange / reddish brown, even if it's just in a edited photo.

As the 1x4 slope was released in dark bluish grey, I've updated the color scheme of my STAP Droid. It's still not the one I want, but definitely a improvement.

There in the background is a Droid Carrier which I'll also present at some point.

I made the driod with the shield last october, after I discovered that the 8x8 dome pieces in trans blue. These are almost perfect for my droideka build, but I didn’t got to use it in any MOCs since then. The whole aesthetic of the collab, with the black round bases and raised terrain worked well to hide the connection points of the dome pieces. I also added LED lights under the shield, which gave a nice glow to the whole thing as a perfect finishing touch.

The STAP's body and cannon are linked by a clip plate, so by changing position, the droid can orientate up and down the twin blaster cannon.

I just wish I had all the slopes available in dark orange, or at least in reddish brown... Unfortunately, the top 1x4 one (the cannon "hood") is only available in light bluish grey at this time. So I'll just have to wait a little to get this done properly.
