"Rockstar"

I'm through with standing in line

To clubs we'll never get in

It's like the bottom of the ninth

And I'm never gonna win

This life hasn't turned out

Quite the way I want it to be

(Tell me what you want)

I want a brand new house

On an episode of Cribs

And a bathroom I can play baseball in

And a king size tub big enough

For ten plus me

(So what you need?)

I'll need a credit card that's got no limit

And a big black jet with a bedroom in it

Gonna join the mile high club

At thirty-seven thousand feet

(Been there, done that)

I want a new tour bus full of old guitars

My own star on Hollywood Boulevard

Somewhere between Cher and

James Dean is fine for me

(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame

I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus:]

'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars

And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars

The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap

We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat

And we'll hang out in the coolest bars

In the VIP with the movie stars

Every good gold digger's

Gonna wind up there

Every Playboy bunny

With her bleach blond hair

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels

Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes

Sign a couple autographs

So I can eat my meals for free

(I'll have the quesadilla on the house)

I'm gonna dress my ass

With the latest fashion

Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion

Gonna date a centerfold that loves to

Blow my money for me

(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame

I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus]

And we'll hide out in the private rooms

With the latest dictionary and today's who's who

They'll get you anything with that evil smile

Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial, well

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I'm gonna sing those songs

That offend the censors

Gonna pop my pills from a pez dispenser

I'll get washed-up singers writing all my songs

lip sync 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong

[Chorus]

And we'll hide out in the private rooms

With the latest dictionary and today's who's who

They'll get you anything with that evil smile

Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

Half way through photographing my old bass amp to list it for sale, Widget decided he would help.

He wasn't of much help, but he brought both the furry and the cute.

Strobist: 580EXII at 1/1 into collapsed silver brolly on the right, and YN560 at 1/32 bounced off a silver reflector. Jewellery model's own.

My jazz guitar, cunningly not plugged in to the amp that it's leaning against. That's a Trace Elliot 100 watt bass amp and cabinet. A hint of didgeridoo is creeping in on the left.

This is more a trap waiting. Waiting for my flat mate to come home and plug his bass and and start playing, then we will have ketchup.

A complete rip off of Mike's idea here . But this should definitely induce pulping, at least at a cellular level in any case.

I have not gone mental, there is a reason for this picture, 101 Ways to make ketchup

si,lo ammetto! questo pomeriggio non avevo proprio niente da fare......!!!!

Ma secondo voi in queste in queste ultime 3 siamo sempre al Bar Des Salles?

I've had this gear for years and don't see any reason to change, there is normally a big extension cab underneath the combo but I took this photo in a radio studio where it wasn't really needed!

from Anna Calvi's show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA on 7 June 2011

At Jazz Crab practice at Music Lab, ATX. Hana is playing a Rickenbacker 4003 through a Trace Elliot amp and a Dietz 15" cabinet.

Mack's well-worn Bass Collection guitar complete with trouser-flapping Trace Elliot amp & cab.

On top is a Trace Elliot GP7SM run into a Dietz 15" cabinet. I used it for the treble (bridge) pickup. On the bottom is a GK 800RB Bass Amp going into an 15" Ampeg Cabinet. I used that for the bass (neck) pickup. The GK 800 I had turned up into overdrive. The overall effect was perfect. I got a tough and rough low end without losing the Rick's characteristic high end dryness and punch. I would have liked to have some 10" speakers to add to the high-end. Maybe next time.
