Trace is the main protagonist of the videogame Axiom Verge, a pixel-styled metroidvania that was created by a single person as a "love letter" to Super Metroid.
Trace was a scientist in a laser lab stationed in New Mexico. One day some sort of malfunction occurred, bringing down the lab along with science team, including Trace.
Next thing he knew, he awakened in a strange, alien place, to the voice of a stranger who introduced herself as Elsenova.
Armed with nothing but a biomechanical Axiom Disruptor gun and Elsenova's voice, Trace must find his way back home...

BNSF coal load AA428 is just out of Mammoth Spring, AR as it curves along the Spring River and over the Trace Creek Bridge. This spot was used by the Frisco for several publilcity shots over the years. It is just after 11 a.m. on August 8, 1996 and it is already getting a bit hot and humid out here. The BN 9497, 9513 and BNSF 9741 have 114 JHMX hoppers loaded with Powder River Basin coal headed for Memphis. The hotbox detector down at King will register 90 degrees just a few minutes later.

I have a lot from Cades Cove to share but I wanted to share this photo first. I've had this idea for a shoot for a long time, finally got out there this past Saturday with Chriss from Crovean. Lot's of fun and I think it turned out great! We'll be looking for more locations to shoot star trails in the future..

A nice bit of variety here, on a good, clear card with fairly natural colouring.
No trace of the Renault 16 UKG 856J. Escort Mk2 looks to be the most modern car I can see, so I reckon we're in 1975/76?
I think that might be a Datsun 100A hiding behind the tree. Who's going to have a guess at the car just visible in the bottom right corner?
The Bedford sign on the left is interesting, I've struggled to findany decent images but I think there was a garage there. It can just be seen here:

A look at old OS map data confirms this, with a garage at No. 54 and adjoining properties 56-58 set back from the road. They'd all gone and been redeveloped by 1982.

This was in a very old hut high in the mountains of my home village. My great-grandfather used to come here in the summer in order to look after sheep and goats. It's strange to think this was a place where people lived once. This was a hanger they used. And now it's just frozen in time. The people that used it are no longer here. And it will probably be here longer than me.

IMHO, this image appears to depict a band of germs performing a sinister dance. The new Omikron variant of the COVID virus could easily be one of them.
I think this explanation of the subject is far more convincing than the other one that comes to my mind: an accidental shutter actuation while adjusting the camera on the tripod, with the lens pointing at the skyline of Frankfurt. Hard to believe, isn't it?
