The Australian market Majorette Toyota Corolla Altis 13cabs liveried Taxi which unexpectedly has turned up at UK TK maxx stores alongside other 13cabs vehicles too. As this is an opportunity which many NEVER happen again I grabbed a few ;-p
Mint and boxed.
Australian themed 3cabs taxi company Toyota Corolla Altis by Majorette with accompanying packaging too. Australian sourced though of course the entire 3cabs series did briefly appear at UK TK Maxx stores recently, totally totally unexpected!
Mint and boxed.
The Majorette Toyota Corolla Altis has already appeared in the U.K. in basic Street Cars form but I don't think ANYBODY predicted that the Australian market 13cabs edition would find its way here via TK Maxx. Mint and boxed.
Just to prove the point that Majorette arn't just about French based or indeed Eurocentric sourced vehicles they sometimes throw an unexpected curve ball in the form of something like this Toyota Corolla Altis. This model is so deliciously ordinary in its appearance it actually impresses and is exactly the type of diecast I like to collect even if this vehicle isn't actually available here in the U.K. along with the Corolla name itself. Smartly styled, richly finished in this super clean metallic white and dripping in great detailing I didn't hesitate in buying this second example when I found them in a Morrisons recently as part of a new batch of 2017 dated Majorettes. Mint and boxed.
Well it seems my diecast crystal ball has failed me again! With Morrisons previously selling the exact same Majorette castings for three years when they replaced them last August with a new set of models I predicted they would last a further three years but just 12 months later and they have have restocked with fresh 2017 models such as this Toyota Corolla Altis. I didn't see it coming at all and as ever it was down to a Flikr friend and Swiftys Garage to tell me about them.
Amazingly with most other diecast brands increasing in price it seems quite incredible that these new Majorette models have remained at the one Pound price point and makes a mockery of the older stock still lingering on the pegs of Toys R Us at quite literally twice the price! The one casting which has been causing most of the excitement isn't an exotic supercar but a rather normal looking Toyota Corolla Altis, a car not even available here in U.K. though may well in other European markets. There are no fancy opening features on this model but for your sub HW and MBX price you do get a 100% stock looking body which looks super clean and efficient in this metallic white finish and of course plenty of nice painted detailing and clear plastic headlamps. I've not found the much vaunted VW Transporter yet but I was able to find two of these in a local branch. Mint and boxed.
I was beginning to wonder whether the once a year Majorette bonanza at TK Maxx was going to happen in 2020 as they have usually appeared by September. Whether Covid 19 has played its part I don't know but finally they are here. Firstly I have to say the selection is nowhere near as varied and numerous as previous years which is a tad disappointing but I can't complain too much when I saw this hanging on the pegs!
I would NEVER EVER in my wildest dreams would have I expected the Australian market 13cabs series to appear in the UK. Its a real life taxi company and with Majorette being a big player in the Australian market its not surprising seeing models tailored to that region. Using a standard Toyota Corolla Altis as its base which still means suspension and clear lense lights you also get a separate roof mounted taxi sign, take note Mattel, and stylised packaging. Mint and boxed.
Another fantastic Thai Taxi release from Majorette utilising their well liked Toyota Corolla Altis and currently available at TK Maxx. An unbelievable opportunity in grabbing models which simply wouldn't ever normally be available here. Mint and boxed.
Majorette at TK Maxx was to be expected around this time of year, what I wasn't expecting to see where their various Thailand, Australian and Dubai releases which are usually destined for those domestic markets respectively.
Their Toyota Corolla Altis casting is very much at the centre of these ranges and can be seen here in its Thai Police livery. Mint and boxed.
From never thinking I would ever possess one of these Australian market only Majorettes to now having several in my collection! 2020 has certainly been a strange year!
Sourced directly from Australia BEFORE several turned up at UK TK Maxx stores! Mint and boxed.
Yet another new livery bestowed upon the Majorette Toyota Corolla Altis. Not a car familiar to UK motorists but as a diecast looks neat and beautifully stock and normal, very impressive for a basic Street Cars release.
Found recently at TK Maxx.
Mint and boxed.
A fairly unusual choice for the mainly Eurocentric Majorette to chose to model but one which probably ties in well with their Thailand manufacturing plant. In that country this Toyota Corolla Altis casting is already available in masses of different Taxi liveries but here in Europe, well certainly the U.K. we only got the plain white one. Until now that is as the extremely vivid new orange recolour hits the shelves of Morrisons. Its an extremely unexciting model of an equally dull car but that for me is its appeal, perfectly stock without the need for garish add ons plus i'm old enough to remember the Corolla nameplate which has just recently returned to our market.
A Majorette basic differs from what other toy makers would class as entry level meaning this Toyota gets a fair smattering of detailing plus an accurate interior and clear plastic lights. Mint and boxed.
A rare duplicate purchase from my recent and very unexpected Majorette finds at TK Maxx. I can't see Thailand editions being available in the UK again so was a good opportunity to grab the best stuff and so cheaply too. Mint and boxed.
The Australian market only 13cabs themed Majorette models have by some extreme miracle ended up at UK TK Maxx stores. How or why I really don't know but for a brief period we diecast starved Brits can enjoy what collectors have at the other side of the planet. Mint and boxed.
Bright and colourful Thailand Taxi themed Toyota Corolla Altis by Majorette. Designed primarily for that market which is obvioulsy very loyal to Majorette as thats where they are now made, it was very surprising to see the full selection at TK Maxx. Mint and boxed.
2019 sees a welcome new recolour for the Majorette Toyota Corolla Altis. Some countries such as Thailand get masses of Taxi themed versions of this casting as well as some Emergency themed ones too. We Brits typically got just the one until this new orange version arrived at Morrisons recently.
Its classed as a "basic" Street Cars release as it doesn't have any opening features but everything else is as well cast and well finished as you'd expect from Majorette.
Mint and boxed.
Clearly a very popular casting with Majorette judging by the sheer amount of different recolours its had. Not a version of the Toyota Corolla we Brits are used to seeing but one sold in Thailand which is where of course Majorette are now made. Found recently in a King Jouet. Mint and boxed.
Well.....at 1.50 each I wasn't going to say no to a second example especially as I had gone to ASDA to get grocery rather than hunt for diecasts! ;-p The Majorette Toyota Corolla Altis is still considered a new casting and yet has already been given countless interesting recolours. Part of the basic Street Cars series which means no opening parts but does retain working suspension.
Mint and boxed.

With so much Majorette action centred around Home Bargains and TK Maxx at the moment its easy to forget that only one major U.K. retailer that I know of have actually stuck by this diecast brand on a permanent basis. Morrisons should be applauded for not going down the HTI generic route, instead offering the predictable array of HW and of course good old Majorette to consumers who actually value realism and quality in their pocket money priced diecasts!
The range they stock at Majorette is only a fraction of whats available but you can usually find a nice assortment of Street Series singles and multipacks along with some Limited Edition sets too. Their Street Series selection was updated recently to include some great new 2018 castings but some previous models remain such as this wonderfully normal looking Corolla Altis. Street Series means basic in Majorette language with no opening features but with clear lense headlights, loads of external detailing and a super accurate castings I would consider them anything but basic! Mint and boxed.
More Majorette goodies picked up from ASDA recently. Nothing particularly new here but at 1.50 they are a bargain and put the 2.00 price point for basic Hot Wheels to shame! Mint and boxed.
Looking at the sorry state of affairs regarding the U.K. Toys R Us and their attempts to sell Majorette which judging by what i've seen is going the same way as Tesco I certainly didn't expect to be buying so much 2017 Majorette models this month! The choice on offer at various TK Maxx stores is nothing short of astounding as long as you are prepared to search various branches and of course some new singles have appeared at Morrisons. A chance visit at one of their branches today revealed fresh supplies and so I didn't hesitate in buying a few more of these Toyota Corolla Altis models. It may seem like the most boring choice when placed alongside their more exotic castings but I love its refreshingly normal styling which looks even more stock in this gleaming metallic white finish. Not a car I know much about as its not something sold here but in miniature form it is well cast and has some of the usual Majorette features such as high detailing and clear plastic lights. Mint and boxed.
There are LOTS of things I didn't expect to happen in 2020 ;-p, one of which was finding Thailand market Majorette at TK Maxx! An excellent way to utilise their Toyota Corolla Altis casting with authentic colours and stylised packaging. Mint and boxed.

The beautiful Spanish resort of Sitges only has two chain owned toy shops, the larger out of town Drim and the very small town centre Juguettos. Neither are particularly stand out for diecasts but this time I was able to finally find the Majorette Toyota Racing branded five vehicle set in Juguettos.
An exciting selection of Toyota castings in official Toyota Racing corporate colours and liveries. The least convincing, though still appealing, is their recolour of the standard Toyota Corolla Altis casting. A dull but worthy car which looks a bit lost with all this go-faster branded tyres and stripes.
Lower priced Street Cars based so no opening features but does still possess working suspension and clear plastic headlights.
