It has calved several times and the split of the next one is clearly visible. Nevertheless, its gereenish-blue color remains a source of admiración. Seen from a zodiac in the Upernarvik Archipelago, West Greenland.
Korluktok Falls, Koroc River, Kuururjuaq.
The pristine Koroc river with its tourquoise waters originates in the Torngat mountains of Northern Labrador/Quebec and flows for about 160 km to Ungava Bay. Wildlife such as caribou, wolves, Polar and Black bears are found in the Koroc river valley; arctic char inhabit the river.

Cervantes is a town on the Turquoise Coast north of Perth, and frequently visited because nearby are these - The Pinnacles - limestone outcrops in the drifting sands. It features on almost all tourism brochures on Western Australia - and despite the flies on the day we were there, is well worth a visit if you get the opportunity.

Enjoy the stillness and plain quiet beach scene - let's hope 2017 works out like this.
However, my attendance of flickr is currently hampered by two things, - too slow internet (which I cannot not control in the short term) to do much, and I am running out of pictures to post (or time to dig into the archive to find more) - so I will be not be around as frequently as I would wish. Please bear with me - and apologies in advance.

A long exposure of the beach at Cervantes. The island in the background is simply known as Cervantes Island. You can see why they call this region the "Tourquoise Coast".
This bleached tree was in the warm carribean Sea near San Pedro, Belize. It was HOT! and I tried to convey this in the photo.

They are three, they are sieblings & just one month old.
My lovebirds (sc. Agapornis roseicollis of the blue variant), haven't completed their plumage, can walk but not yet fly, so, it was possible to take them out in nature in a sunny day & photograph them in natural light with all their collaboration :-)
One is cobalt blue (to the left) and, as kindly suggested by Lena Dezaneka, we will call it "Sapphire" (Zaffiro in Italian).
The other two are in a lighter tourquoise blue. The smallest & youngest is that on the right hand side which is temporarily called "24" from the number it bears in the ring.
Please, could you suggest a name for those two?

This is a memory of the brilliant colour of the Sea around Turkey. It is ofcourse full of waves and turquoise water.

Steve Carney, Belize - 2019
This photo one of a series took on a short flight between San Pedro and Belize City, Belize in the summer of 2019. The photo was taken through a thick hazy air plane window, whilst trying to avoid reflection. I did some processing on this photo in lightroom , mainly boosted the colours slightly, added some clarity and sharpness and I experimented with distortion and a White Vignette. I think the result looks quite surreal and I am thinking of printng these out and applying epoxy which I hope will look good and fit with the vivid look.

Ceannabeinne Beach near Durness in the far north-west of Scotland. Almost no people on this beach - guess it's too far ;-) And don't be fooled - with temperatures around 12°C on this sunny June day, this is nothing like the Caribbean in reality.
looking down on banff. theres 3 ways up that mountain; the gondola, the express path that zigs zags its way up...and the power lines that i followed in a straight line to the top.
Really loved the different water colors around, not to mention the rainbow, created by the light of the slowly setting sun.

The Maid of the Mist is a boat tour of Niagara Falls. (The actual boats used are each named Maid of the Mist, followed by a different Roman numeral in each case.) The boat starts off at a calm part of the Niagara River, near the Rainbow Bridge, and takes its passengers past the American and Bridal Veil Falls, then into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of the Horseshoe Falls. The tour is available starting from either the Canadian or U.S. side of the river, returning to the starting point in each case.
All passengers receive a blue Maid of the Mist poncho.

Sc. Agapornis Roseicollis, children of my couple Luce (lutin) and Blu (a strange green ancestral but with the forefront in a salmon colour).
The one to the left, in an even stranger colour, a pale green similar to pistachio, is born on April 18 while the brother (or sister) to the right is born 2 days before. His feathers are in an amazing electric green and, differently from his Daddy, the deep salmon colour is not only in the face but also in the neck, a genuine ancestral Roseicollis but with brighter colours than as usual. Both siblings have a tourquoise toned tail.
Now, the boss here is the smaller, Pistachio, we haven't found a name but are refraining because we will let them be adopted... Our parrots are countless, many many and recently we saluted the arrival of two Parakeet puppies too that we are still handfeeding...But this is another story.

The whole series has been shot in my in-door studio in natural daylight with my parrots totally left free as they are accustomed.

Left to right: Blu (the Daddy, Agapornis peach headed), Luce (his wife, Agapornis Roseicollis Lutin), their amazing two puppies, now 2 months old, one has an electric green plumage with a deep plum coloured face, the other is in a pistachio colour with many different hues of pale green, both have a bright tourquoise tail.
