This is the view just before touching down on a private airstrip on Sydney Island BC.
We never got permission to land as we had never seen anyone on or around it any time we flew over it going to or from Victoria. After we landed we walked around and saw a lot of deer that seemed almost tame. Then we came across information about this place that sickened us.
It turned out that this half of the island was a private game reserve for hunters, they would fly in, pay the fee and bag themselves a deer or two. There was even an elevated platform in the middle of this clearing with chairs on it so they could just sit there and shoot away.
Then somebody came roaring up in a pick-up and told us to get the hell off the island, we were happy to leave anyway.

Kodak Gold 200, expired 2012? The film was left in a point and shoot a friend of mine gave me in 2024. It belonged to a friend of hers who passed away over ten years ago. I took the film out and put it in my Nikon FM. This is my shot from 2026.
The moon was full and halo-ey in the sky tonight. Sorry, I know halo-ey isn't a word, but my awkwardly limited vocabulary won't allow me to express myself without making stuff up.
This was a very touching production number. The theme is bullying. It is handled really nicely. The older black girl is looking back at her childhood. There were previous scenes of her being bullied. And now she has the option of fighting back, or extending an olive branch and softening hearts. Let's hope she makes the right choice...

A lot of children got exited about this and start chasing these bubbles, leading into some unique shots.
On last years vacation I made some experiments with two polarizing filters sticked together to get some long exposure shots. Not the best way to produce good results. Very funny colors in the corner.
For some reasons I looked over the last years shots and decided to upload this one.
