Santa Catalina Island Sunset

This was our sunset view from Top of the World in Laguna Beach. I've been to Catalina Island before, but it's been a long time. On my last trip, I was heading over on a February evening with rough seas. My best guess is the swells were about 20'. It was a wild ride! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzIav6m2VbA

or "Light of Glory" (?)

I'll leave it with your personal preference.

On the "El Teide" descent I walked over the clouds and it was like being on the top of the world, a real wonder!

If there were a fence at the North Pole, I figure it might look like this because, you know, the North Pole is curved as if it were on the top of a globe. :-)

The Santa Ana Mountains as seen from the "Top of the World" - a park at the highest point in Laguna Beach. From this view it's easy to see why these two peaks are commonly referred to as Saddleback Mountain.

"The view from here's breathtaking

My visions all surrounding

The humans look like insects

There is only one way down

But i's cold and lonely in this stratos

Gliding through the darkness

Where is my craft leading to

Am i damned or blessed?

Don't let go on top of the world..."

These were growing all over Fisher Mesa, but I chose this cluster on the rim of the Mesa, referred to as The Top of the World. The Colorado River and Professor Valley are in the bokeh.

Splendid view of Snowdonia from the top of Snowdon.

Sea of Clouds ! , a fantastic view at the Top.

I read that when visiting Baltimore's Inner Harbor, go up to Federal Hill Park and enjoy the view. That indeed is the case and what a view!! The city skyline is on display and I even caught American Ninja Warrior setting up to film a show, what a production to get all the obstacles set up!

Beartooth Mountain : Tallest peak 12,799 ft.

Beartooth Pass at 10, 947 feet offers a wonderful view as you make your way up the well-maintained road 212. The late Charles Kuralt (former CBS News reporter) named it “The Most Beautiful Drive in America.” The scenic drive passes through North West Wyoming and South-Central Montana. The road is closed in the winter and early spring. Stop in Cooke City to check road conditions. You can also ask Rangers as you leave YNP. As you can see there is lots of snow! Sudden snow storms can close the road for a few hours or a few days. This shot was taken June2, 2024. In some areas, the snow looked to be 12 feet high. During some years, visitors come to play in the snow on the 4th of July. This area is very close to the YNP. Keep your eyes open for mountain goats and marmots. Allow 2-3 hours for the adventure to the top and return to Cooke City. There are many pull offs to view snow, falls, and animals. Have your picture made by the sign at Beartooth Pass.

Walking on top of the world, or may seem that little hump at 3rd and Cincinnati in downtown Tulsa always highlights those crossing the crosswalk.

The good weather angels were with us on this day. Perfect weather for a 900 foot vertical hike to take in this world class view.

..there was something so pleasant about this place...

This is the end of the road called "Top of the World Expedition Route", and parking is clearly limited. This guy is celebrating with a beer, his front wheels parked 2 feet from the edge on a ledge that overhangs a drop that could not be survived by vehicle or man, not even if he was wearing a seat belt.

Short Story: I recently got back from Italy and visiting in the Dolomite mountain range for 6 nights. The building on the left is where we slept for 2 nights.

Long Story: I was on a photography workshop, lead by Erin Babnik, that took us through various locations in the Dolomite mountain range and we spent 6 nights in various mountain huts within the region.

It was an amazing experience with a great group of people and I don't think I could have enjoyed it more. It was an absolutely stunning area to explore and I had some amazing opportunities for images.

Just before you cross the border from British Columbia into Alaska at White Pass, a wonderful vista opens up across Summit Lake to the Boundary Ranges in the southeast.

visitors looking down from the Epidaurus amphitheatre, Greece.. caught in silhouette.

This ridge is called Top of the World, for it has a stunning view of Fisher Towers, Professor Valley, the Colorado River, and in the far distance, the San Rafael Swell. This view is in the opposite direction, looking east. It seemed that a more apt name would be the edge of the world. The drainage below and to the right becomes Cottonwood Canyon (my previous post), visible in the distance near its confluence with the Dolores River.

Snow-dusted pines and a granite spire frame a surge of orographic cloud spilling west off Sandia Crest, with the Rio Grande valley and the Manzano range fading on the horizon. A dry high-desert plain meets winter mountain air—clean lines, big scale, and a sweeping diagonal that pulls you from ridge to city.

Nevermind the length of life.

What if you have just one day ?

Would you stay sleepless ?

What if you have to learn everything ?

Would you stay open ?

What if you have to touch the heart ?

Would you come over ?

What if you have to live it up ?

Would you walk slower ?

Would you come closer ?

Would you talk louder ?

Would you cherish silent more ?

I don’t think so.

You would remain the same idiot as you ever was.

nevermind!

better use some flavour

(woohoo cinnamon for every meal!!!)

meal tastes better,

life runs slower,

enjoy and smile more … :)

HuangShan, or literally meaning Yellow Mountain, is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. A frequent subject of traditional Chines paintings and literature as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the top scenic attractions in China.

Huangshan is a granite massif consisting of 36 separate peaks, rising above 1,800 m. Famous throughout Chinese artistic history, Huangshan represents the typical mountain in Chinese paintings. Frequently shrouded in mist, the many peaks appear to float on clouds and have very fanciful names such as 18 Arhats Worshipping the South Sea, Lotus Flower Peak, Celestial Capital, Paint Brush, etc.

Jagged granite peaks clothed in uniquely shaped pine trees create a spectacular landscape of great interest to artists and photographers.
