After being drowned an battered by the waves, the red Toyota Hilux is still running - just a tad wet and sandy.
In case it isn't obvious: These pictures at the beach are based on the Top Gear episodes on the indestructible Toyota

"A car isn't a classic just because it's old. To be a classic, a car has to tell us something of its time."
-- James May (English television presenter and journalist who is best known as a co-presenter of the motoring programme Top Gear)
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~Jeremiah 29:11

*It always feels fresh to ride on Top Gear track, even if the weather outside isn't the brightest.

Amsterdam - Aambeeldstraat.
Artist Bart Eysink Smeets parked this Citroën - it could of course only be a Picasso - on a rock.

A very very rare sight. Great to see this out and about and registered!. You have to love that plate :)
Wind and waves toppled the car over. Although you see a chain attached in this picture, I didn't count how often I had to re-stick them in the sand - just as the ropes in the original scene, these were quite useless.
Outdoor photography is fun, having a wet and sandy model afterwards - not so much.
Toy Project Day 2360
The trinity has been completed: I've built all three silly icons of the Topgear Motorhome challenge, as birthday gifts for a friend. This one was built within the span of a day, back in March actually.
As with the others, I had a lot of fun translating reference material into small and simple form with some complex techniques.
I was so short on time that I photographed it on the build table and not with a background. Also no good shot with all three since I don't (yet) have a copy of James' Lotus.
As sort of an update, I'm very busy these days. My non-LEGO activities in weekends have seemingly tripled. Lots of things running parallel. I have too many unfinished WIPs for my taste, but building is at a snail's pace. I'm pretty sure I'm building character, though, and gaining valuable life experience. Which is nice to have too. ;)
Quite a hazy day, indeed, but who would refuse to drive this beauty on a day like this? :D

Dropping a camping trailer on top of the Toyote Hilux - will this at last destroy the car?
Took me a whole afternoon to change to good bonnet to a slightly battered one - mainly because wherever you place a hinge, it's in the wrong place to actually work. And of course I added the blue ribbon that holds it in place.
This is still Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear with the indestructible Toyota
Toy Project Day 2367
Sognefjord at Flam (?), Norway
This is as plain as you could get an Opel. There was nothing below this basic Kadett in 1965 Opel pricelist. Still, my father, who always drove company cars, wanted to have one for himself. That never materialized though, because by the time he would buy his own car, the business he worked at changed from selling Opels to selling Toyotas.
Basic as this 1.0 liter Kadett might be, the Norwegian scenery on this plate is stunning.
Very different...
Now with the current font licence plate. Before the ED was much smaller... and illegal I would think.

After all the Mist and clouds I thought I would finish today with a sunny shot... its time for bed now.
