My hubby, my daughter Marieke (23) and I had lots of fun in a small Zoo Parc today! :-)
This animal (marten variety) was watching us...! :-)

Still enjoying the "last sunrays" of this week...the sunny weather will probably change tomorrow! ;-) I will visit your streams asap!
"Look! the massy trunks are cased in the pure crystal;
each light spray,
Nodding and tinkling in the breath of heaven,
Is studded with its trembling water-drops,
That glimmer with an amethystine light. "

The sun shining upon the castle...
the golden light of a new day...
the castle surrounded by a white blanket of snow
and the trees that whisper in the sun....
A perfect day...but very cold!
View at large may be better, you can see some balloons over the clouds:

Hurricane Mk.1 P2902/DX-R flg [G-ROBT] RAF 245Sqn - Sywell 2024 - Sywell (United Kingdom)
InExplore
Hawker Hurricane P2902 was built in 1939 as a Mk.1 by Gloster Aircraft and first flew in October of that year starting life with 245 Squadron at Drem in Scotland flying shipping patrols. On May 31 Hawker Hurricane P2902 carrying the code DX and R for Robert was heading for the French coast to provide cover for the evacuation of thousands of allied troops trapped on the shore around Dunkirk. Pilot Officer Kenneth McGlashan engaged a Messerschmitt 109 who managed to hit the Hurricane. The badly injured pilot managed to bring the damaged aircraft down to crash land on a beach in Dunkirk, where it remained until recovered by French enthusiasts in 1988. It was obtained some time later by warbird operator Rick Roberts who subsequently employed the services of several restorers before finally engaging Hawker Restorations, where it was returned to flying condition.
10 Year Project (October 2011)
Each month I take a favourite photo from ten years back, and re-edit it, using current tools and knowledge.
I really liked the original of this one, but I like this more.
This old shed was only just keeping it together just off the main road near Kaukapakapa, which is in turn near Auckland.
Does anyone know if it's still standing?

I haven't visited this tranquill valley for quite a while & missed it somewhat. There was a forest fire around 10 years ago which looks like had made a recovery unlike the great storm in 1826 which caused its desolation.
Nature has long since repaired the devastation. In 1999 eight thousand trees were planted and interpretation introduced to illustrate the natural succession of plants and trees thought likely to have developed along the valley and on the immediate fells since the end of the last Ice Age.
Happy New Year to you all !

I entered this photo in the 2015 Audubon Photography Contest. I didn't win, but my photo was selected as one of the top 100 judges' favorites!
Never entered any contests before. I am happy to just post here for me and my friends. But this was pretty exciting so I had to share. :)
My photo was # 47

Malaysia has some of the most dazzling arthropod life. The Borneo rainforest is 140 million years old, making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world and home to countless species of macro photography subjects, many of which are still undescribed. In this post, I'll showcase 100 of the memorable shots from Malaysia that I've taken in 2015. Please enjoy this photo series here: bit.ly/1mH9ZdI

Despite how it may appear in this photo, Rj and I are fine. If you don't know what's going on in my life right now, you can send me a message. If you're not totally creepy, I'll respond to that message. It's just not something I care to discuss publicly.
Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kindly comments.
Any feedback on my work is obviously welcome!
Top 100
As an ongoing exercise to attempt to learn something about myself, I try to maintain a set of the 100 photos of mine that I like the most. Doesn't matter if anyone else likes them, nor does it matter WHY I like these ones.
So at the end of each year I take all the images I've rated the best, and see how many of them I should add to the 100. And of course that leads to the toughest part, because it means I need to remove some to make up for the additions.
I'm sure you can't see a whole lot of details, but... from when I started using a digital camera... 22 years, way too many images, but also people, events and travels that amaze me as time passes.
These are in chronological order, so:
* The very first one, top left, is a bug on a pink flower, taken a few days after Jan gave me the first camera.
*Photos 15, 16 and 29 are of Tobias, our grandson, and he's the only person in here more than once, I think.
* 12, 20, 33 and 38 are from what was my annual pilgrimage to a hot air balloon festival. I miss that.
* 39 is the first after we moved to Bali.
* 71 was the start of Taiwan.
* There are quite a few special people in here. You know who you are. ♥
* Sprinkled also in there are images from Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, America, and one from Beijing.
* None of my Tokyo photos have made the grade, but we're heading back there in a few weeks on our way to New Zealand for a holiday, so maybe soon!
It's been quite a ride. I hope it continues for a long time. :-)
