What you see is the flexible plastic Handle of a Toothbrush.
A toothbrush is a small, handheld tool designed for cleaning teeth, gums, and tongue. It typically consists of two main parts:
Handle – The long, often ergonomically shaped part you hold. It can be made of plastic, bamboo, or other materials, and may include grips or rubber sections for better control.
Head – The top part that holds bristles, which are the fine, flexible strands used to scrub the teeth. The bristles are usually made of nylon and are arranged in rows. They can vary in texture (soft, medium, or hard) depending on user preference and dental needs.
A toothbrush is a common oral hygiene tool used primarily for cleaning teeth and gums. Here are several use cases for a toothbrush, categorized by purpose:
Primary Use Case
Daily Dental Hygiene
Function: Removes food particles, plaque, and bacteria from teeth and gums.
Frequency: Recommended twice daily.
Tools Used: Manual or electric toothbrush with fluoride toothpaste.
Secondary/Additional Use Cases
Tongue Cleaning
Some toothbrushes have a textured back for cleaning the tongue to reduce bad breath.
Braces/Orthodontic Care
Special brushes (e.g., orthodontic toothbrushes or interdental brushes) are used to clean around brackets and wires.
Denture Cleaning
Denture-specific toothbrushes are used for cleaning artificial teeth.
Gum Stimulation
Gentle brushing massages gums and can improve circulation and gum health.
Non-Oral Use Cases (Unconventional but Common)
Cleaning Small or Delicate Items
Electronics (keyboards, camera lenses)
Jewelry
Hard-to-reach corners in household objects
Beauty and Grooming
Eyebrow grooming
Hair dye application in small areas
Exfoliating lips or dry skin spots
Art and Crafts
Texturing paint or clay
Cleaning small parts of tools or models

toothcare! I floss and brush right after dinner, then I feel like I don't have anymore "chores" for the day. Also my hygienist said, "keep doing whatever you're doing, it works!" last week, which is pretty high hygienist praise.
Strobist Info: I used a white square photo tent, with on the bottom light baby bleu sheet paper.
Outsite tent lighting: 2 500W contstruction lights.
When I came by this drugstore, I suddenly felt taken back to socialist times in East Germany. Then, it was necessary to drop in this shop and see, whether there would washing powder or toothpaste be available. It might happen that the one or the other was not available for weeks. And when they had, let´s say, washing powder, you tried to get as much as you could.
But the owner of the shop, his mother, said: "You get two packages washing powder! Everyone gets two packages washing power!"
"But I have two children. We are four people. You know this!!!", I answered, and she shrugged her shoulders and let me know that I had no chance to change my situation.
It was the time of hunters and gatherers in East Germany.
You had to hunt for shoes and for bacon, for paint and for paper, for fruit and for sofas, for butter and socks, for towels and books - you had to hunt for everything. The only difference over the years was that the objects of your hunting changed.
And now I was standing in front of this drugstore and I could not believe that it was still open. The owner had not yet surrendered to the big supermarkets!
I decided to have a look at this place of my youth. Maybe, I also could take some photos!
Nothing had changed in the shop. The same shelves, the same desk, the same door, the same owner. But I don´t tell you the truth. Of course, the goods to be sold had changed. Toothpaste, chewing gum, sweets - everything was available now.
Everything available - not quite true, he told me. He sells, what his customers want to buy. And his customers are the people living in the streets near his shop. He offers, count it!, 22 different products for toothcare. That´s less than the big stores offer, but enough for his customers.
Rot-Weiss - an East German toothpaste! Wow! I remember it. A feeling of nostalgy is mixed with a feeling of relief: The hunting period of my life has become history!
May it be history for ever!
How long he will be doing this job? He doesn´t know it. And I wonder, how he can survive in his wonderful old drugstore.
a side view of vanishing gum disease because of brushing, mouth wash, and vitamins A and C. If you look carefully, you can see a faint red line on the side of the gum where it used to be completely blood red.
EnJOYing all those chocolate covered bananas and strawberries and the shop full of frosted cupcakes ... where will it all end? I know because I was there today ... the denist's office.
Outcome? An early New Year's resolution: FLOSS EVERY DAY!

Brushing someone else’s teeth is a simple practical exercise in caring for people who are unable to do it for themselves, and having your teeth brushed provides a small sense of what it’s like to depend on someone else for basic personal care.
Looking closely at a toothbrush with a dollop of white toothpaste, which is hard to find any more. It seems like most toothpastes are now some shade of blue or blue-green.
Jakub is obsessed with toothcare. He verbally fantasized about a tv show where a "cool dentist" would describe how to properly brush your teeth. This was the last night of tour in Leipzig, and although his pants are unbuttoned, I'm very surprised they're on at all.
