A cute White Squirrel pokes his head out of his Winter home in the Beech tree to see what the whistling was all about!
Right above this hole in the Beech tree, lives a pair of Raccoons. I could see that the big crack in the tree was filled with sleeping raccoons ,but I could only see their fur moving from breathing, not their heads. So, I started to whistle to see if I could wake them up to get a shot, but they did not budge!
However to my delight ,the downstairs neighbor ( this White Squirrel )poked out his head from his hole to see what the whistling was about! I got some quick shots and then he went back into his hole and did not return to look again. I even checked 1/2 an hour later and no sign of this cute guy! He probably rolled over and went back to sleep ,lol!

Have you ever known a cat that doesn't LOVE a feather?!!
A white peacock (at Boonstra Farms) lost one of his feathers as he was strolling around, and the cats thoroughly enjoyed the new toy!

Today I had a moving experience with some fox kits. This is a series of one curious little kit who ran right up to me. It was fun to watch him eat a rabbit that his mother brought to him and play with his siblings. Today I saw 3 adults and 5 kits.
Happy Tuesday. Just wanted to share this "briefcase" moment with everyone. Today love with all your heart! Give that special someone in your life a hug! Let them know you care.
You are the song within my soul...a melody that can't grow old
I've know all along
My Heart Belongs to Only You......
A first ever trip to Donna Nook yesterday. Busy, controlled (?) etc however a great experience that allows us humans the chance to get close to grey seals as they join the world. There were some truly fresh youngsters on view - an hour or so old maybe and plenty at all sorts of other stages of development.
The, necessary, fences made for some challenging photography as did the endless moving shadows being cast by the numbers of visitors making their way along the beach. However by being relatively tall, standing back from the path and using the slope I was able to get some reasonable perspectives on some of the youngsters enjoying the early winter sun.
Press L at least.
Big & very small, lol! Found ths pic of my sweet Peach-Faced Lovebird (whom I miss every day) wanting to be a goalie!

Have a nice weekend ! Thanks
This little guy was watching me fill the "peanut house". He thought if he smiled, and was charming, he'd score some peanuts. It worked. For Smile on Saturday. Uniflona.

A moose (Alces alces; called elk in Europe) is a large deer. Some authorities put the American moose in a different species, Alces americanus.
A male moose is called a bull, a female moose is called a cow, and a young moose is called a calf. A group of moose is called a herd. The plural form of moose is "moose."
Moose live in northern Europe, Asia, and in North America. Moose usually live in areas with lakes, marshes and swamps. They also live in mountain ranges.

I took about 10 min. this morning to take a couple pictures of the girls before my clients get here this afternoon. I am so busy photographing "real" kids but secretly I wish I had more time for these two! I will post more from this shoot tomorrow if I can find time. LOL I have two clients tomorrow so I don't know! Sorry I haven't been on Flickr much. Soon I hope!
A 22-day old monk seal pup gives mom a sneeze inducing nuzzle after a morning swimming lesson. It is the tenth pup born on Oahu in 2024 and fifteenth pup of this female. Endemic to Hawaii, this species of monk seal was established in the archipelago millions of years before the present human populated main volcanic islands emerged above sea level. The original seal-occupied islands have since receded to coral atolls and are now part of Papahānaumokuākea. A recent survey by NOAA estimated a small, but encouraging, population increase to 1,570 individuals throughout the Hawaiian archipelago. However, Hawaiian monk seals remain endangered and among the rarest of marine mammals. The Hawaiian name for a monk seal is ilio holo i ka uaua meaning dog that runs in rough seas.

It was funny watching this little squirrel ducking and dodging with the peanut in his mouth. A blue jay had been swooping down and stealing his peanuts. (they are beautiful birds, but are such bullies). He managed to escape...nut intact only to bury it in the snow. I guess he'll find it in the spring.
