Douglas C-47A-50-DL (c/n 10144)
Trans Europe Air
Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS/LFBO)
11 June 1979
Built as 42-24282 and delivered to the USAF in August 1943, this C-47A was acquired by Air France as F-BCYX in 1948. By 1970 it was in service with Fretair, and in mid-1975 with Uni-Air. In July 1978 it was acquired by Trans Europe Air, still as F-BCYX.
Trans Europe Air was a French niche cargo carrier mainly operating from Toulouse, and employing a sole DC-3, namely F-BCYX. This was subsequently seen parked at its base, awaiting its next flight.
When TEA ceased operations, the DC-3 was taken back by Uni-Air, and was somehow destroyed beyond economical repair at Toulouse in 1982. It was last reported as stored engineless at Toulouse in December 1987, and was reportedly broken up sometime thereafter.

*Jacques Rosay was Vice President Chief Test Pilot of the aircraft manufacturer Airbus. He has piloted the maiden flights of several Airbus airliners, including the A318, A340-500, and A380 Superjumbo. He was born in 1949 in Valréas (Vaucluse), France, and died on 12 June 2015 just 4 days before this picture was taken.
Not really in Toulouse but part of the Toulouse pink invasion !
