Shot from my first test roll of 120 film. I messed a few things up, including scanning. I will have to practice some more, I guess. But this image has some charm, imo.
Street photography using an ancient manual focus TLR camera has it's challenges. On one hand, because the camera uses a waist level viewfinder (meaning that the camera is not brought up to the eye) it's not as intrusive therefore people are not as wary of the camera. On the other hand it's bl**dy difficult to focus quickly and accurately. There is a saying among street photographers - "f8 and be there" - meaning that you set your aperture to f8 (or f11) and leave it there. If you then zone focus to somewhere between 20 and 40 feet it means that most of what you photograph on the street will be in an acceptable focus because of the relatively narrow aperture and the increased depth of field it gives. This was my modus operandi for this shot and thankfully most of the frame is indeed in focus (don't pixel peep please!).

Do you feel "betrayed" when (if) you found out a photo was an Artificial "photo"... are we getting used to being "lied" too?
IN the "old" days photography enriched opportunities for artists and transformed the artistic landscape; AI art has taken away opportunities for artists and ultimately has contributed little to the art landscape. Photographers have proven to be capable of creating meaning beyond mere mechanism; AI artists lack the ability to create meaning because the artistic process is only a mechanism. Photography requires skill that directly relates to the output; AI art does not require skill or intentionality. Photography captures things that already exist in a transformative way; AI simply imitates without intentional or meaningful transformation.
While photography has expanded the realm of artistic expression, AI art threatens to undermine it–and thus is unlikely to be accepted as a true artistic medium.

As I'll show later, Rosebery is still a town dominated by a mine. Mining has been part of its history for more than 100 years. Gold was first discovered in 1893. This old railway bridge ferries precious metals from the open cut mine to its processing plant on the other side of the Stitt River.
The Booker Prize winning author Richard Flanagan was once a resident in Rosebery.
These are genuine film effects. No digital alterations were made here.
