The tip that I practiced was getting shots in any type of weather. Here, I was in a pretty foggy forest on my hike to Franklin Falls. The fog adds sort of a mysterious atmosphere to the photo which is something you can't really get with other weathers. I really enjoy this element of fog! There is so much you can do with it!

The giants of the Poble Espanyol

The giants and large-headed carnival figures - among other mystical beings - are typical of the patronage festivals and, above all, the Corpus Christi festival. This religious festival was introduced by the Catholic Church in the fourteenth century and is celebrated across all Europe. According to anthropologists, all of the figures are descended from others that the pre-date Christianity. With the festival of Corpus Christi (or celebration of the Body of Christ), the Church converted the last pagans, and the giants and all of their companions became festival figures. In many towns and cities across Catalonia the tradition of bringing them out to dance remainsvery much alive.

The Poble Espanyol giants are Clara and Marcel, who pay homage to the compound's first visitors at its inauguration on 20 May 1929. The other four giants represent the seasons of the year and, symbolically, the different stages of life: Rosalia (spring), Feliu (summer), Paulina (autumn) and Andreu (winter).

Neighbour called over this afternoon excited that he had unidentified butterflies rutting in his garden.

He knew I liked macro photography so I went over with MP-E 65mm and MT-14EX ring flash.

We managed to identify the copulating pair as Orange Tip butterflies.

Seems alittle early for it but it was a nice day so why not eh?!?
