At the Scheidplatz square is a major interchange of the same name from bus to tram to subway.

Here we are on tram tracks while in the distance one line 12 tram is about to leave (away from me, just to state that).

St. Johannes der Täufer (John the Baptist) is a very old church located in Taufkirchen, south of Munich.

The church building was originally Romanesque and dates back to around 1150. The church was converted to Gothic style around 1500 and later the interior was converted to the current Baroque style in 1738.

Here's a detail of the altar picture.

Munich's resident "cowboy". He looks sort of bored - but then, his herd never moves...

The Rinderhirt is part of the Rindermarkt (= cattle market) ensemble of cattle and their herder. The entire ensemble intends to remember the times when the Rindermarkt was a place to trade cattle.

An over 180° panorama of the Schrannenplatz in the town of Erding. The red building on the left is the Schrannenhalle, built 1866 in gothic revival style. A Schranne in southern Germany is a storage and trading place for grains, mostly wheat, barley and rye.

In case the town name Erding rings a bell:

Yes, this is the town where the Erdinger beer comes from. 🍺

This thing is actually the roof of a "light well" or "skylight" that provides daylight to the mezzanine level of the U-Bahn station "Harthof", located at the southern end of that station.

A super wide view of the late renaissance barrel vault ceiling of the Michaelskirche in Munich.

St, Michael was built from 1583 to 1597. It was massively damaged during an allied bomb raid in 1944 and reconstructed from 1946 to 1948.

"Zu verkaufen" means "for sale". Interested? Two former Warsaw Pact (probably from the former GDR) military vessels, disarmed, demilitarized, leaking oil and in various stages of rotting were for up for sale in Peenemünde harbour back in 2019. I blurred the phone number given on the port side of the nearer boat for obvious reasons...

The Latonabrunnen (Latona-fountain) in the gardens of Schloss Herrenchiemsee.

The fountain shows the legend of the goddess Latona. According to this Greek legend, the goddess Latona was treated aggresively by peasants, so to punish them she turned them into frogs and turtles.

The Allianz Arena is a football stadium located in Fröttmaning in the north of Munich.

Max. seating is 75,000. Due to it's shape it earned the nicknames "Schlauchboot" (inflatable boat) and "Autoreifen" (tyre).

Looking north along the tracks of the abandoned S-Bahn station "München Olympiastadion". Last train was 1988... - 38 years ago...

The station was built especially for the 1972 Summer Olympics held nearby. After the Olympic Games ended, the station was used only if football matches were held at the Olympic Stadium. In 1988 operations ceased finally, since then the station is left for decay - despite being a listed building as part of the Olympic ensemble.

Two trams again - this is a similar traffic situation as in the previous upload, just a different point of view.

The background tram is coming out of the Arnulfstraße, entering the Bahnhofsplatz square; while the foreground tram comes out of Prielmayerstraße from the Stachus square, entering the Dachauer Straße.

The “Timepiece” Sundial is an installation, balanced and secured by three mooring chains, at St Katherine Docks near to London's famous Tower Bridge. The sundial was designed by Wendy Taylor and commissioned in 1973.

This night photograph was taken in during my visit to London in October 2022 during blue hour. The slowly drifting clouds provide interesting complements to the Sundial and Tower Bridge.
