At the Scheidplatz square is a major interchange of the same name from bus to tram to subway.
Here we are on tram tracks while in the distance one line 12 tram is about to leave (away from me, just to state that).

Munich's resident "cowboy". He looks sort of bored - but then, his herd never moves...
The Rinderhirt is part of the Rindermarkt (= cattle market) ensemble of cattle and their herder. The entire ensemble intends to remember the times when the Rindermarkt was a place to trade cattle.

A view upstream the Pegnitz river. The building on the left is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, built 1339. The Reichskleinodien (Imperial Regalia) were stored there from 1424 to 1796.
The Schuldturm tower in the center was built in 1323 as part of the town fortifications. As the city grew and new fortifications were built further outside the town, the tower found new use as debtors' prison, thus the name Schuldturm (lit. "debt tower").

The Latonabrunnen (Latona-fountain) in the gardens of Schloss Herrenchiemsee.
The fountain shows the legend of the goddess Latona. According to this Greek legend, the goddess Latona was treated aggresively by peasants, so to punish them she turned them into frogs and turtles.

This building originally dates to 1502 (completion). It served as one of the main granaries of the town. The name Mauthalle (= customs hall) dates to the 19th century when the building served as the customs headquarters of Nuremberg (Maut = customs duties). The building is 84 m long, 20 m wide and 29 m tall.
During an allied bombing raid in the night of March 8th/9th 1943 the roof structure burned out, the building was covered with a provisional roof afterwards. During another allied bombing raid on October 3rd 1944 the walls received just slight shrapnel damage, but finally during the bombing raid on January 2nd 1945 the building was hit heavily, the eastern gable and the southern walls collapsed, the building burned out completely.
Reconstruction after WWII lasted from 1951 to 1953 in slightly simplified form.
Today it serves as an office building with shops in the ground floor, the basement houses the restaurant Mautkeller which features a microbrewery.

Two trams again - this is a similar traffic situation as in the previous upload, just a different point of view.
The background tram is coming out of the Arnulfstraße, entering the Bahnhofsplatz square; while the foreground tram comes out of Prielmayerstraße from the Stachus square, entering the Dachauer Straße.
Single exposure, no "tricks" used.

St. Sylvester was the village church of Schwabing when that district of Munich was still a village (well, some say all of Munich is still just a village with millions of residents).
This here is the octagonal extension of the church building dating to 1925 - 1926.
The actual old village church part dates from around 1200 (steeple base) and is still present as a side nave on the south side of the extension.

Detail shot of the Jilin Watch Factory "Jixing" and the Jilin Watch Factory "Hangtian". Two vintage Chinese wrist watches from the late 1970ties.
The "Jixing" (吉星) brand name means "Lucky Star". The red 軍用 on the Jixing means "military use" (Jūnyòng) in traditional Chinese characters. These watches were issued during the China-Vietnam conflict in 1979.
The "Hangtian" (航天) brand name is also nice - it means "Spaceflight" in English - just notice the "orbit" style logo above the brand name.
Both watches feature handwound 17-jewel (17 Zuan) "standard" movements and are rather small by modern watch taste.
Here are both watches with bands attached.
And here you can see a wrist shot of the gold colored Jixing.
And before somebody asks - the thing the watches are propped up against is a watch case opener.
The photo is an archive find from years ago - but I still have both of them and they are still running strong.
