Keeping me sane(?) in lockdown when I need a timeout. One flash into a reflector camera right and some white paper camera left.

Taken on a side street during the Sanja Matsuri (festival) in Asakusa, Tokyo.

A young girl put in her ear buds and started playing with her Nintendo DS, offering an interesting contrast between new and old Japan.

The Sanja Matsuri is one of Tokyo’s three main annual festivals. It is held to honor Hinokuma Hamanari, Hinokuma Takenari and Hajino Nakatomo- three fisherman who supposedly found an image of the Buddhist goddess of mercy, Kannon in the Sumida River back in 628. They had the statue enshrined in Tokyo’s oldest temple, Sensō-ji and from the 7th century, a festival to honor the three men became an annual event. The festival is held on the third weekend of May and features parades of three mikoshi (portable shrines) through the narrow and jam packed streets of Asakusa. Every year, an estimated 1.5 to 2 million people attend the festival.

Someday he will thank me for taking this picture.

Hello Friends,

I think I should write more then just my camera settings. So I do. Yesterday I met some friends and we went to an old house, a ruin. Very inspiring place I must say. After we found the entrance we went upstairs to get on the roof. The weather was so beautiful. Sun was shining and it felt like spring if it would had been a bit warmer and not that windy. Well it actually was a storm up there and we had to be very careful not to get blown away by the wind :D. I was very excited because it was the first shooting with my brand new Cam. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III, I bought one day before. My first Full Frame Camera and I must say this is so amazing. The quality is really amazing and the sharpness of the pictures is just stunning!!

I hope you like this Work. Feel free to leave some comments or add it to your favorites ;).

Have a nice day!

Greetings Marcus

I've been coming in here for years and this big guy was in timeout when I first photographed him... I think somebody forgot he was here.

Six - Our Daily Challenge

Snappy Smurfling: How long do I have to be here?

Nanny Smurf: Snappy, you've only been there six minutes. You say one more word and you'll get 6 more minutes. You've been way out of line recently. You can fill the time thinking about ways to improve your behavior.

Slouchy Smurfling: I'm being good!

Nanny Smurf: You certainly are, Slouchy. We don't have much time left. Papa Smurf and Brainy Smurf should be here any minute now.

Slouchy Smurfling: How many forks do we need?

Nanny Smurf: Six. One for each person. We need knives and spoons as well. There's plenty of silverware in the drawer behind you.

Slouchy Smurfling: And then I do the cups?

Nanny Smurf: Bless your heart, Slouchy. You are so much help to me. There are five on the table already, plus Baby's green cup. You could put one by each plate. Baby, I would like you to go wash your hands so you'll be ready to eat as soon as Papa and Brainy arrive.

Baby Smurf: OK!
