On the wall is a single, Time Stand Still, by Canadian prog rockers Rush from their 12th studio album, Hold Your Fire, released in 1987.

On the sleeve from left is Alex Lifeson, guitar player, Neil Peart, drummer and Geddy Lee, bassist and singer.

Rush was one of the most successful Canadian bands of all time achieving international fame. Formed in Toronto in 1968, the final power trio line-up became complete in 1974 with the arrival of Neil Peart, shortly after the release of their first album. Peart became the lyricist and Lee and Lifeson the composers of the extensive catalogue of songs Rush produced until their disbandment in 2020 with the death of Neil Peart from brain cancer.

Rush released 19 studio albums, 8 live albums and 6 compilations, selling in excess of 40 million units. Rush was elected to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and also the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

You were always there to hold my hand

When times were hard to understand

But now the tides of time have turned

They keep changing

Seasons range, but you remained the same

A steady head, a sun to rain

You'll be the light that's shining bright

High above me

Autumn gold losing hold

We are leaves meant to fall

There is meaning to all that fades

Freezing winds were stayed by warming words

To touch your headling to the hurt

I'll treasure every lesson learned to the embers

Fire fails, blushes pale

We will, answer the call

There's a meaning to all our

Seeds of eulogy to sow along with dreams

Fill the need that can leave us grieving alone

Frail is our beauty in the end

But all we count is sentiment

A memory stays to guise the way

and whisper

Don't lose sight, don't deny

We are leaves meant to fall,

there's a meaning to all our

Seeds of eulogy to sow along with dreams

Fill the need that can leave us grieving alone

A symphony resounding in our minds

Guides us through what we knew

would come all a long

Sometimes I feel I don't have the words

Sometimes I feel I'm not being heard

And then I fear I'm feeling nothing more

Sometimes I feel I don't want this change

I think we all have to rearrange

And now I feel there's no one losing more

Seeds of eulogy to sow along with dreams

Fill the need that can leave us grieving alone

A symphony resounding in our minds

Guides us through

as you hear me

as you do,

as you need me

Making true

What we knew would come all along

Is there a shot you have been trying to achieve for a long time? This is mine. There is a overlook in an area within Calgary called Bonaventure. There, the trees in Autumn display their vivid colors and since they are perfectly lined up along the roadway, show a sense of order that adds to the scene.

Like most of us, each year life and work take precedence over passion and the shot goes missing except for this year. Could I have asked for more with a family and their K9 companion in this ideal Autumn landscape? I think not. I would even forgo a blue Alberta sky to get the scene over the color.

This year it did not get away and for a rare moment passion rules over life's pressures. A kind of reassurance in place of responsibility. Hope you like it too.

Every year is getting shorter. Never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught.

time to go to sleep.

good night everybody. :)

I'm feeling not well today. So I'm lying with my sleepingbag on the couch. But as you can see, I'm not alone! :D

Time was this street was full of life, day and night, dad heading off to work before dawn to begin the day shift at the factory and children wiping the sleep from their eyes, ambling down the stairs for a quick breakfast and mom sending them off to school. The streets filled in the afternoon with baseball or hoops and cleared as dad pulled around the corner in into the drive and calling everyone in for dinner. Scarf down dinner and back outside for game of kick- the- can while the night settled in. The activity was brisk, even in the cold, cold Michigan winters. The snow covered streets made for a fine rink for some street hockey. These streets were living, they were life.

Time was.

Now these streets have fallen silent. The sounds of life are distant and infrequent. It is as if no one ever lived here, the pavement seems to lead to nowhere and serves no clear purpose. The children are long gone and the few dads and moms that remain are old and often alone. They peer out fearfully behind curtains onto streets that their families once owned. They watch as wildlife begins to reclaim their ground- pheasants finding nesting in the tall grass where houses, full of life, once stood. In their time they have seen the full circle, families thriving, then struggling and now nature, devoid of man, struggling to get a foothold.

I often wonder if they sit and wonder about when time was….

Time flies, but I remain the same.

my colleague's Bash toy in the streets. This astounding R8 is up for sale.

Hoverflies in winter? I've never seen them this time of year down here.

The sun has been out the last 2 days, so maybe that had brought them out early.

I would have liked to get a little more of the head in focus, but apart from that I'm not complaining. :o)
