Time is not real. It is a concept that was created to organize this one infinite moment in which we seem to occupy.
The fantastic flowering time invites you to linger. To enjoy the fragrance of the flowers, the color explosion of nature and to dream ...

I had some time off a couple of weeks ago and headed back to Christchurch to spend time with my family and friends (and, of course, The Cat). I had many plans, including the Christchurch Airport Marathon. But, alas, suddenly slowing down after being too busy and finding myself in colder temperatures (ones that I used to be accustomed to), I developed a horrible head cold which knocked me completely out of action for a couple of days and then decided to hang around in the background until a day or two ago.
Needless to say, I had to withdraw from the marathon because, even though I could have done it, my time would have been terrible and I would have made myself sicker by putting so much stress on my body. Even helping shift a few boxes and bits and pieces for my parents took it's toll. I haven't been sick in such a long time and it was frustrating but happily I am back to being 100% and I have learnt my lesson - don't take on so much all at once, and make sure to get plenty of sleep. And, apart from getting sick, I had a wonderful holiday and it was lovely to have some time away from the normal 'day to day'.
I got some great shots of mom feeding both babies in the nest this afternoon. All is well at the nest and the babies seem to be doing great. Be sure to check back at nine tonight for a great video of feeding time :).

Used the kissing technique, hard to see. Used both stamps. All Hero Arts stamps and paper and bling. Only the text stamps is a Dutch company. It means something like that you don't find time, you have to "create" time, and the other one says that it is all about the small things in life!!
Well, I'm doing the assignment name "Time". Relaxing, I looked back the photos I shot in Sapa, Vietnam. Look at this photo, I feel...
Place: Sapa, Vietnam

It was, for some, Russian Camera week, so I pulled out my c.1940's pre-war FED"1" with a roll of Arista Ultra 100. This isn't an easy camera to shoot with, given the approximate shutter speeds, the FEDf3.5 50mm uncoated and imprecise apertures, and Barnack style loading, but it's a fun challenge nonetheless. Adding to the opportunity was that my film decided to stick inside the cannister (my own rolling from bulk) so many overlaps/double exposures and torn film contributing to the experience. Even so, tried to do some reasonable capture, remembering that sometimes it's the process that's the product. Thanks for the flickeranians who continue to inspire and get me off my tush to observe rather than merely see.
The UKs biggest live play emergency response exercise at the time. More than 600 responders to a rail scenario.
Made this exposure at the same time as the earlier two. I was able to catch this striped Skink just emerging from the mulch around a small flower bed. The iPhone 16 Pro allows for amazing close-up photography. For scale, that’s small mulch below this critter.
NOTE: for the time being I am moving away from creating frames for my photos. It’s gotten to be burdensome and the actual widths vary with the size of the image. That leaves an uneven feel to the photos when viewed on a page together.
I struggled with this week's p52 theme! But, as the title says, time is running out so I am going to roll with this one - the best of my lot from the week.
a most wonderful day when visited yesterday a place, where i have been for the last time 40 years ago. back in the past i saw myself as a teenager hopscotching across the rocks as a kid :-)
dear flickrs, i hope, during the next days there will be more time to visit you. i wish you a wonderful weekend. see you soon.
2 hours of waiting, with manual click every 15 seconds, and the video is just 24 seconds!! huhu , quite tired but satisfied
I think i must buy 'intervalometer' or shutter release cable that can set timer. My current shutter release cable (the very cheap one) don't have timer on it.
Hhhmmm, any suggestion from time lapse expert please? :)
Out walking the dog, this crow kept scolding and scolding, so finally I looked up and pointed my camera at him. Thanks Mr. Crow, you were right.

" All the mysterious damage, the dents, tears, twists, breaks and deformations, are easily explained with the realisation that time does stand still. The destruction iteself being caused not by the stoppage but by the minute break in consciousness and concentration, just as time restarts."

Where do I start??? OTT!!
When I first took up a camera, PS was the last thing I wanted for my images. I was determined that any of my images would be natural!!!! that was before I discovered that adjusting the contrast, brightness and saturation, altered my images to a point which I found acceptable!
Approx 9 months ago I purchased PS Elements 9 and it has helped me replicate the images which my camera and I, have attempted to capture!!!
Along the way I have discovered many other things which I can do to alter images and although I would strive not to alter natural images, sometimes I find it fun to play a little!!!
Today's image is a great example of me at play!! You will find 5 of the 6 images which I have submitted to "The Sunday Challenge" group stream! These images plus other images which I posted to flickr over the past year!! All have a perticular relevance, to me anyway, some more than others and all reflect a period of life from which I am learning.
There are too many alterations and additions in this image for me to explain but I hope you enjoy looking through the creation! and that is what it is, a creation, having fun, have a look at the origional in the comments below!!! Not my usual sunset or landscape but life should have a little fun!!!!! Enjoy
Don't you sometimes feel like you are in a time warp and time is absolutely still? Today is one of those days!
I hope everyone had a great day :)!
The best of Disney's 1940s musical anthology features, a kind of pop Fantasia - Includes Blame It On The Samba, with Donald Duck, Joe Carioca, and the Araquan bird from the earlier South American features.
Beautifully animated and scored. it looks forward to 1950s classics such as Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland.

Back cover ad from a 1948 Disney comic book
When I do count the clock that tells the time,
And see the brave day sunk in hideous night;
When I behold the violet past prime,
And sable curls all silvered o'er with white;
When lofty trees I see barren of leaves
Which erst from heat did canopy the herd,
And summer's green all girded up in sheaves
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard,
Then of thy beauty do I question make
That thou among the wastes of time must go,
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake
And die as fast as they see others grow;
And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defence
Save breed, to brave him when he takes thee hence.
W. Shakespeare
This is the temple of Hephestus, one of the twelve gods of ancient greeks. Hephestus was the protector of craftsmen and blacksmiths. His temple was built in appr. 460-415 B.C. at the Agora, the heart and soul of ancient Athens, at the very spot where the idea of democracy was born.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells
