"The Time-Turner is a device capable of time travel. The Time-Turner resembled an hourglass on a necklace. The number of times one turns the hourglass corresponds to the number of hours one travels back in time. It is extremely important that the user of a Time-Turner not be seen by past or future versions of themselves."
#195/365 So the theme of this week is Harry Potter. The 3 subtle clues to yesterday's shot was...#1 The Projector was displaying the title across my wife. #2 My wife was wearing the time-turner (as seen here). #3 The title was "The Secret Riddle" which is the 13th chaper of the Half-Blood Prine (yesterday was also Monday the 13th). There you have it..in honor of the new movie which comes out this week. Happy Harry Potter Tuesday.

This image was made with a Karlos 8x10 pinhole camera using a ND filter for 2 more stops of exposure. I use Carestream single sided X-ray film exposed at 60-80 asa depending on light conditions and time of day. I process with Rodinal 1:100 dilution at 20 degrees C for 6 minutes. The windy day made for some beautiful streaks of clouds. Actually, I was surprised I captured a skyline at all, using orthochromatic film.

You and Me in Time
by Amanda Lynn
Time they say will give me grace,
But all I ever do is lose face.
Time they say will grow the child,
But all I ever do is grow more wild.
Time they say will cast a spell,
But to me it’s just a sounding bell.
Time they say is a crashing wave,
But then why do I feel so trapped in a cave?
Time they say scatters to the wind like birds;
But then why am I always at a loss for words?
Time they say will leave you beguiled;
And it’s true, I’m still just a child.
Time they say will bring you back to me,
But I find that hard to see,
Because it’s always from you I flee.
Prenditi tempo
(Pablo Neruda)
I think I just found the secret meeting place of time travelers. This is not a new photo, but still fun considering Back to the Future is now 30 years old. Enjoy.
"How did it get so late so soon?
Its night before its afternoon.
December is here before its June.
My goodness how the time has flewn." - Dr Seuss
It's train time at the secluded Rawhide crossing on UP's Roseville Subdivision. As the UP 2644, leading the ZLTG2, crawls up the stiff grade near Midas, the MOGRV coasts down the #1 track with a long manifest bound for Roseville. Never a dull moment on Donner.
And what's romance? Usually, a nice little tale where you have everything as you like it, where rain never wets your jacket and gnats never bite your nose, and it's always daisy-time

Done for the Macro Monday theme, "Reflections." The glass containing the sand is just 2 inches long. And, this is a bit late; I've been busy with computer stuff. Anyhow, HMM!
Here's a favorite quote: "Time works for you or against you depending upon how you use it."

With Jupiter, Venus and the Moon looming over the western San Francisco sky, I took 28 exposures of about 300 seconds each beginning at sunset (6:35 PM) and ending after all three bodies had set beyond the western horizon (8:51 PM). I've read that this alignment is known as the Jupiter-Venus conjunction.
Before I took the first long exposure, I made sure to do a quick capture of the sky to show how it looked without trails. Stacking these photos created an interesting result: the beautiful orange sunset which I took early on (and was in the first 4 photos) ended up dominating, creating this unique result that looks as if the stars were rising (left to right) rather than setting (right to left). I also had a few hiccups along the way including having to replace my battery which is visible about 3/4 of the way down the star trail.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs

Time
Time, time, time
Make time, give time, take time out
Win time, cost time, the time of your life
Spend time, sell time, the good times and the bad
Kill time, zero time, all the time in the world
Time watch, time travel, time to begin
Time table, time square, can I fit you in
Time frame, time to go, time that you grew up
But tell me...
How do you feel?

Sometimes I feel like I am being taken for a wild ride through time, fearful I am missing out on precious moments and that I have no control over anything.

Harry Weese, arch. 1969
Even as a kid I always really liked this one. Back then it was probably more due to the copper-colored windows than anything else, but perhaps because it also looked so complete.
Weese did a great job of achieving clarity in his structures and this is no exception. Base, shaft, capital. On the ground floor he managed to include a colonnade on three sides, surrounding a a sculptural foyer on several levels. The different foyer-levels were employed as to offer access to the double-deck elevator-entrances.
I've been trying to find a section through the facade in order to understand the reveals above the windows, but have so far been unsuccessful. At any rate, it is a very nice detail which brings a lot of depth to the facade.
The rest of the building is clad in cor-ten steel, which has weathered very well and goes exceptionally well with the windows.
