This small ceramic tile is by multimedia artist Robert Lohman (1919-2001), who worked primarily in Indiana and Michigan. It depict two young men in a wholesome, intimate portrait. It is hand-signed R '71 on the front and "Lohman g-10 1971" on the reverse.

Jackfield Tile Museum is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge museums administered by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. The museum lies in the village of Jackfield, near Broseley, on the south bank of the River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge, in Shropshire, England. It is located within a World Heritage Site, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

The museum is housed in a decorative tile factory building, the former works of Craven Dunnill and Company, that is still used to produce tiles, particularly encaustic tiles. It presents the history of the British decorative tile industry between 1840 and 1960, the period in which this factory and that of Maw & Co nearby played an important part in this industry.
Jackfield is one of the oldest known ceramic production centres in Shropshire, a tradition dating back to the 16th century.
Craven Dunnill gave up its Jackfield works in the early 1950s, moving to Bridgnorth, and the buildings were used by a firm making iron and bronze castings. In 1983, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust purchased the works with the aid of an Architectural Heritage Fund grant. In 1989, tile manufacture restarted on the site and in 2001 Craven Dunnill took over this business again.

White 3x6 subway tile is in the shower/tub. We had 400 green spacers, thinking that would be enough. We were wrong.

Drain tiling is the placement of polyethylene (a type of plastic) tubing below the surface of the ground for the purpose of draining excess water from the surface or subsurface of an agricultural field (in this instance).
For the agricultural producer, some of the intended benefits are: more area to crop (less water-covered), earlier into the field to plant (dries out quicker), don't have to drive around potholes when running equipment (more economical, saves fuel and overlap), better yields with less crops "drowning out", and tiling can be a tool to minimize crop losses due to increased salinity (high amount of "salts" in the soils due to other farming practices and high water tables). These benefits are not always guaranteed.
What about the unintended consequences that are (in many times) passed on to neighbors, other parts of the country, or won't take place until the future?
Some of these effects are: Loss of some nutrient and chemical filtration (these waters trickle through only a little soil before they are in the pipe and drained into a large lake or river), loss of wildlife habitat, loss of groundwater recharge for aquifers and those that get their water from wells, and potential contribution to increased flooding and pollution of neighbor's lands and/or rivers during spring flood season or after large rain events.
Normally, these waters would slowly seep down into the ground to recharge aquifers or would evaporate into the air. When drained, these waters reach streams or rivers in a matter of hours or days, increasing the flow of the river. Because these waters also have less filtration through the soil, they are direct routes for extra soil nutrients such as nitrates to get into rivers and lakes that serve as water supplies for towns and cities downstream.

These could blow bubbles in your mid-1970's bathroom, a bit of red reactive glaze in the West German style, wax resist in the An Wynn Reeves style, and bottom left is a deep sea fish with it's own light source on a stalk, to show you have been watching that young David Attenborough doing his BBC nature programmes on the TV.

Roof tiles are made from fired clay and so come in a variety of colours - mostly shades of beige but you do also see red ones.
Some are even glazed blue to create a more striking roof style.

Reverse-side view of one version of an antique Ambler Asbestos Products "Waltile" sample showing full label with product information and vintage "risque" illustration.
The sample is comprised of asbestos-cement sheet material with a hard enamel coating and scored to resemble 4"x 4" grouted ceramic tile pattern (as illustrated). The sample measures approx. 4" x 8" x 3/16" 10-cm x 20-cm x 4mm).
Interestingly, this sample's label also indicates other asbestos accessory products for finishing installation, such as: enameled asbestos base-board, cap moulding, and intermediate moulding.
In the style/followers of the street artist named Invader. I've seen variations of these little tile images in places like Paris, Köln, Aachen and California.
Spain first settled in California in the 18th century, setting up a string of Christian missions to try to convert the indigenous peoples. They brought their architectural styles to western North America where they continued to influence the look of the place, especially after a "revival" around 1900-1930.
