In my hometown there is an old Hotel which was used as a hospital(Lazarett) during the 2nd World War. ..... Lately ,at a visit, I noticed this old sign at the wall....It´s the sign of the "Red Cross", if you can imagine!!!?? Times and weather have washed the white colour......Tiles have been replaced ....History!!!!Today " Johannes Itten " would have been enthusiastic about the colours:-)))).. I´m really flashed , anyway<3

when I walked back to the hotel after enjoying my dinner, I spotted this beautifully tiled sidewalk, cleaned up for the night.
There are only a few of such beautiful in the streets of the heritage district George Town. This one id to complete my sidewalk series from Penang.

Just two rings which I've pieced together for the photo. Actually three rings, because the plain golden one consists of two combined rings, kind of a double ring. The other ring with those tiny droplets / beads going all around is made of silver. I like to use both together, so I photographed them together, placed onto the silver side of a gold and silver coated piece of cardboard which once was used in a food wrapping. This is an image taken last night, but apparently I had too much time today, because I still tried a few focus stacks with different light and with the rings on top of a glossy black tile, but liked none in the end. So back to yesterday's image which I've processed in DXO PhotoLab 4 (sharpness, micro contrast and denoising with Deep Prime only), then in Analog Efex for the vignette and a very subtle matte look, and finally in Luminar AI, where I'd enhanced a few details (in the painting mask), added a very subtle glow, and slightly brightened the lower part of the silver ring with the dodge and burn tool.
Happy Macro Monday, Everyone, stay safe and healthy!
Tiled roof shot in Neive, a small picturesque village, in the Langhe region of Italy. I shot this with my Olympus E-M1.
Shooting texture and shapes, got 'em both in one shot.

The Penrose Paving is constructed from just two different diamond-shaped granite tiles, each adorned identically with stainless steel circular arcs. There are various ways of covering the infinite plane with them, matching the arcs. But every such pattern is non-repetitive and contains infinitely many exact copies of what you see before you.

Some azulejo tiled buildings in Porto. Shot with the OM-1, Mark II and the OM 12-45mm F4.0 pro lens.
Possible for Macro Mondays, lens wide open.
Let me know if you cannot view the tape measure at almost 2 centimeters/centimetres.
At first I tried building the image with the complete long stairway. After cutting and adding I figured out that a basic rectangular/square tile was all I needed for replication. While it's not all that apparent two different samples were used, one horizontal and one vertical. I also discovered that if I did a little more shading to each tile I could quickly make this appear as a true weave pattern. Maybe next time, we'll see.
