Passing deep under Liverpool with a Wirral Line circular is Merseyrail three-car unit no. 508117, seen here approaching Moorfields station.

The train is the 1.56pm West Kirby - Liverpool - West Kirby (2W49) Saturdays-only service. Next stop is Lime Street, then Central and James Street before diving back under the River Mersey towards Birkenhead and The Wirral.

Sadly no stop at Penny Lane this time around 😂

Looking Close on Friday - Shades of Purple

Happy Looking Close on Friday everyone.

Here we have a little wooden train, from the board game Ticket to Ride.

For a train tragic such as I, riding the 1880 train was a wonderful fusion of fun and fantasy, theatre and thrills. There are some wonderful videos to be seen on Youtube, just search "1880 train hill city" to be transported to another world.

Karen Carpenter, who saved my life back in 1971........but that's another story.

"May I help you ma'am" the girl repeated in her usual polite tone this time.

"Yes, please a train ticket"

"Of course ma'am, but where to" The girl did a formidable job at hiding her annoyance with Maj.

"I don't know" Maj replied, suddenly realizing she hadn't thought that far, she just had needed to get away.

"Well ma'am, in what direction would you like to go ?" The lady behind Maj let out a sigh this time.

Grab your ticket and let's go on an adventure. Sometimes an escape from the world is exactly what a girl needs. I have never been on a train before and I think it is a great time to try something new. Be bold and try something, different. If a Disney princess gets her animal companion why can't I? Let's get out of this town tonight. All aboard! Let's go! - Bliss

Another one of those moments that really makes you think who, what and why.

Wishing all my flickr friends and those who have commented and added my photos as favourites a very peaceful and happy Christmas and all the very best for 2017.

I hope you enjoy this image.

A couple more from the about to be transformed Colston Hall in Bristol. This is one of the doors from the modern atrium into the old hall, the place where staff are normally stationed to take your tickets from you because the modern entrance is free access all day, every day, behind the doors you have to pay for!

They have a campaign to support the rebuild if you are interested... www.colstonhall.org/transformation/

Buying the home of your dreams or jetting off with the family on a luxury holiday, everyone has dreamt of what they would do after winning millions of pounds on the lottery.

We all know the odds of picking a winning ticket are pretty slim.....in the UK its – around one in 45million.

Now compare that with horse racing - On the flat turf odds on favourites win about 59% of the time. But the results can vary depending on the type of race. And to win millions you have to risk millions.

Best just to consider gambling as entertainment and for that, you have to pay --- in the long run "the house always wins".

This parking ticket (???) was placed under the windscreen wiper of a crazily parked car in Kensington Church Street, Kensington, London......Shot taken with reflection for photographic affect..🤔
