I believe that I have not to explain, where I created this image. My impression is that the way of approaching artwork has changed dramatically during the last years. It seems to me that traveling and the interaction with art degenerated to a tick off activity documented by selfies..... I am not sure whether I like this recent development of "culture".
This is from a beautiful stone clock I had custom made several years ago... Suddenly appeared to me that I need to add a photo of the entire clock soon... haha :P

With new signals in town ready for install, the Santa Fe searchlights that protect CP Toluca on the BNSF transcon in Toluca, IL are doomed thanks to PTC. An eastbound stack train DPU passes under the west end of the plant and under the unmistakable design of the cantilevers.
So this is a photo that is more for biological interest than art as you can see that the Puffin's face is covered in ticks. It would have been an easy job to Photoshop them out but I thought they were interesting. This is likely to be the Seabird Tick (Ixodes uriae), Uria being the generic name for Guillemots. This tick mainly feeds on seabirds at high latitudes in both the northern and southern hemispheres. In penguin colonies that are inhabited year-round, the ticks have a three year life cycle, but only feed on the penguins for three or four months, hiding in aggregations under stones for the rest of the year. So it is likely that they will only feed on the Puffins during their short nesting period, and will hide in Puffin burrows for the rest of the year when the Puffins are out at sea. The ticks form aggregations and are attracted to these by pheromones and the ticks' excretory product, which helps explain why this was the only tick-infested Puffin that I saw on the Isle of Lunga.

This is what I spied in my son’s new cats ear. I told him to run and get me some tweezers, and I pulled the darn thing out. I wrapped it in a Kleenex and burned it in the fire pit. In all my years I've seen two ticks till going on vacation in TN and NC this past spring. The ticks were everywhere and now I notice them more here than I have not ever before.
Compact, deployable, autonomous combatant.
These tanks were fielded by a UN-type organisation, which used them as active protective systems in border conflicts. The tanks were air-dropped into a hot-zone, and simply awaited any interlopers.
Successful during their intended lifetimes, they ended up having many of the pitfalls of mines. Several misplaced remnants of long-passed conflicts were stirred to violence by the proximity of tribal bystanders completely unaware of their existence.

Brighton's West Pier- or at least what's left of it. A site I've long wanted to shoot as a daytime long exposure, and an afternoon trip along the coast gave me the chance earlier this week.
Single frame long exposure with 10-stop filter- a proper one, not welding glass, hence being able to leave the image in colour! This was stacked with a polarising filter to help retain features of the drifting clouds & extend the exposure duration.
I shot some additional frames in a mix of colour & mono to be uploaded soon.

Do hate them but this one was quite 'attractive'! Think it's Dermacentor species. Quite different to the usual 'Ixodes sp' I see and get bitten by (including this year!)

The edge of a sign in a nearby car park; there was some writing but I composed to avoid it. Bright green and the brick together caught my eye which together with the insistence of the white and the tick makes for a pleasing composition.

This young squirrel is about 4.5 months old now. Tick was a bit more fluffy than his 3 siblings therefore the middle name is Mopsy (Squirrels-2020-2566.jpg)
One of my contacts that will remain nameless (Charlotte:o)) has an unhealthy love affair with dandelions lol. So I thought I would go out and see if I could find some lovin'...... I found this huge field of perfect dandelion clocks, I must say I found some beauty and inspiration, but all that kept popping into my mind was, OMG there are billions of weeds out here just waiting to happen LOL
Fare play to Charlotte, she only sees beauty in life, wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone did that !!
