I saw a feature this morning showing that sunflowers are grown aplenty in Ukraine. Remembering this photo from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, I offer it with my thoughts and best wishes for the brave souls in Ukraine.

This sculpture is in the old market hall in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. Much as I tried I couldn’t find any information about this piece which appears to be made entirely of corrugated cardboard. My own interpretation of the work (for what it’s worth) is that it represents a man or woman with the weight of the world on their back. Check out what appear to be sky scrapers on the back of the sculpture.
Arrival at stillness doesn't require a total absence of thinking activity.
Instead, it requires not taking thinking activity so very personally and not identifying with it.

Another photo that I liked a lot. I watched this Carolina Wren perched for quite awhile before deciding to take some clicks. The way the light was hitting it was surreal. Thankfully, I managed to get off 3 clicks before it flew off. This was my first click.

Volcano Kawah Ijen, Indonesia 伊真火山——印度尼西亚
The Ijen volcano complex is a group of stratovolcanoes in the Banyuwangi Regency of East Java, Indonesia. It is inside a larger caldera Ijen, which is about 20 kilometers wide. The Gunung Merapi stratovolcano is the highest point of that complex. The name "Gunung Merapi" means "mountain of fire" in the Indonesian language.

As I pulled up to drop off breakfast this morning, TC was already outside. I guess when you squeeze 4 people into the little dwelling, it gets a bit cramped.
As I approached, TC stopped me and asked if I had an extra mask. I did not. He rummaged around and found a paper bag to cover his face, and then he motioned me forward.
With all the selfishness I've seen and watched over the past few days, I am glad to see that some people still have respect for someone else.
