The Lancia Thesis was built from 2002 until 2009. The car wasn't very succesfull and only about 16,000 Thesis have been built. Nowadays Lancia's line-up is reduced to just one car, the Ypsilon.
For the senior thesis project this semester, I'm focusing on illustrating episodes from WNYC's program Radiolab. This episode was about animal minds and how and/or if we as humans can ever truly understand what other organisms on this planet think.

My first time spotting a Thesis, this was just around the corner from a Dedra, Possibly a coincidence but an exciting few minutes for me.
I know they're a little bit of an odd one, but there's a strong allure. The wheels appear to be OEM, but a fairly rare option. Not easy to clean!

RIGOT ART .... flash artistico

A Different Honest
November 25- December 11, 2005
Opening Friday November 25, 7-10pm
A Different Honest marks the work of artists in the underground Character Based Art Scene. Borrowing on the influence of early graffiti and outsider art, the selection of artists blend a practice of street art, illustration and Fine Art. The work in a Different Honest reflects the reemergence of graffiti and illustration in the contemporary art scene internationally.
On the set of the dystopian science-fiction movie Ready Player One, being filmed around the western parts of Birmingham City Centre. For the duration of the film, the city centre has been decked out to look like the horrifying future of 2044 Ohio, with burning oil drums, graffiti on the walls (which already had graffiti on them!) and a selection of old vehicles from both Europe and America which have been battered and broken to resemble the results of years of neglect and vandalism.
The vehicle demonstrated here is a rather beaten up externally, but internally pristine, Lancia Thesis, one of those rather pug-faced luxury machines made available only to the European market.
From what I've heard the Thesis is a very good car, being very smooth, comfortable, a bit heavy on the turning but otherwise a very good machine, but that styling does look a bit... well... strange...
The car first made an appearance as a prototype back in 1998 Diàlogos concept car, and some early one-offs were built as early as 2000, with a special laundalet version being built for Pope John Paul II. The production model made its debut in March 2001 at the Geneva Motorshow and its interior was displayed for first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales started in June 2002 in Italy, with export markets following shortly after. The car was powered by a range of engines, from the base 2.0L single-block Inline-5 Turbo engine to a 3.2L V6. Internally the car was very well equipped, with wood and leather beautifully styled and crafted to perfection, and was endearing for its addition of radar adaptive cruise-control, the first Lancia car to come with this feature.
Contention however was with the external styling, which many motoring critics were quick to pounce on as being somewhat repulsive, almost as if Lancia had attempted to base the car on the abject failure that was the Ford Scorpio. However, according to Lancia designers, the car was designed to be deliberately po-faced so as to turn heads, in similar fashion to the FIAT Multipla and its layer cake style.
Production ended in 2009 after only 16,000 units were built, and for a while Lancia didn't actually build executive cars. However, in 2011 the company began to release badge-engineered versions of the new Chrysler 300C, being dubbed the Lancia Thema II.
On Wednesday afternoon I finally submitted 3 copies of my MSc thesis: one to the department, one to the university library and one to the UNESCO external examiner.
Now I just have to wait three months to find out what the verdict is. In the meantime...
1945: Ad for Eleanor Hamlin makeup featuring instantly recognizable Trifari jewelry. The bracelet and ring are shown in their own Trifari ad in December 1945. There was a fair amount of cross promotion between jewelry, both fine and costume, and other products. There's a section on this in my thesis.
