This was taken a couple of weeks ago when we had warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. We are now back to below zero at night and around 8 degrees during the day.
A strange thing happened last night. Kaiser was on my lap, Henry on Phill's and Pixie was in front of the fire. In the programme we were watching someone started to play a Theremin ( one of those weird electronic 'instruments' that produces sounds by putting your hand around it). I have never seen the cats so frightened of anything. Henry shot out through the cat flap, Kaiser and Pixie were terrified and were about to run out as well so we switched off the sound immediately. At the time it was 'playing' low notes. If we see one again on TV we will have to turn it off immediately

Theremin Fountain in Mariinsky Park in Kyiv.
The cast iron fountain was cast at the Kyiv plant of Alexey Termen in 1899-1901 according to the design of the architect Alexander Schiele. To date, seven of them have survived - five large and two small. All of them are valid.
A cat made of plastic forks is located on a tree not far from the Golden Gate metro station near the old 19th-century Theremin fountain.
The author of the cat is the famous sculptor Kostyantyn Skrytutskyi.
600 forks were used to make the sculpture.
The Fork cat appeared on the tree in 2009, and was restored in 2021.
The authors wrote a legend about this sculpture:
For centuries, fluffy defenders of grain and women's shoes lived in Kyiv - so that they would not be gnawed by harmful mice.
As soon as the cats expelled the last enemy, a new trouble called Plastik arrived.
The worst thing is that It is everywhere: food is packed in It, food is eaten with It, and, just imagine, It is used even to sew shoes and make hats for ladies!
For a long time, the cats discussed what to do - you can't help with teeth and claws in this matter.
So in the center of the capital suddenly appeared ...the Fork Cat!
Pulling plastic forks from everywhere, he covers himself with a new ʼfur coatʼ and reminds all passers-by: it is good not only where recycling is done, but also where less is consumed. 😊

The performance '4:3' uses the experiments of Leon Theremin (Lev Sergejewitsch Termen) who worked with the avant-garde filmmaker Mary Ellen Bute in the 30s in his New York studio connecting light and sound to create his 'Lichtmusik'. His idea of merging light, sound and movement opens up an exciting field for research and experiments, even in the age of digital technology. (Compositions and electronics: Elisabeth Schimana, flute: Cordula Bösze, Terpsiton: Elena Golovasheva, instrumental design: Andre Smirnov)
Listen to the following music called "The swan" made by a theremin, performed by Clara Rockmore (1911-1998), the first performer who brought complete musical artistry to the theremin. This song was composed by the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns and is named "The Carnival of the Animals" .

We spent another magnificent afternoon at Pataphysical Studios this Saturday, making art together … and playing at the edges of time.
Our visitors this week were Jim Neidhardt (now Dr. Neidhardt) and his lovely wife Denise (Dr. Now?), longtime friends of Drs. Rindbrain, Skidz and the Queen of the Desert. Jim showed us the ‘hypno-disks’ he is working on to create experiences like this surreal Duchamp film, Anemic Cinema: youtu.be/AsnhBUp7xxM?t=24s
We had a great conversation and I knew they were like-minded folks when Dr. Neidhardt and I both exclaimed at the same time the same exact phrase: “Life IS Change!”. Jim is interested in contributing to our madcap art adventure, so stay tuned. Learn more about his work at: neidhardtstudio.com/
Throughout the day, we brainstormed more ideas for our new Time Machine, while working on sundry maker art projects:
• Dr. Rindbrain and Canard put the finishing touches on their music box
• Drs. Figurine and Heatshrink prepared to assemble a theremin together
• Dr. Fabio drew a first sketch of what a time controller might look like
• Dr. Igor and Heatshrink both gave Dr. Figurine nice gifts for her birthday
• Dr. Tout de Suite considered lighting up her goggles, chose to paint instead
• Dr. Zboon discussed time travel and made a birthday card for his friend Ernesto
• Dr. Canard created a colorful zen map, inviting other doctors to art it up
• Dr. Rindbrain added more rainbow-colored lights to the Time Machine framework
It was great to stretch out to the edges of time and back again in the company of my friends.
Fire in the hole!
