AMSTERDAM, Rechtbank / Court - Het schitterende beeld van een gebukte figuur, 5 meter hoog, die een nestje vasthoudt, werkt als een magneet. Het is speciaal gemaakt voor bezoekers van de rechtbank, de grootste van Nederland, een imposant vijftig meter hoog gebouw met vijftig zittingzalen.
De objecten in het nestje hebben symbolische opbeurende betekenissen: wijsheid (uil), volharding (pijl) en bescherming (eikel) in die grote grove hand met die kleine glimmende spulletjes. De bedoeling is dat deze grote buigende figuur ‘bemiddelt’ tussen het hoge gebouw en de nerveuze bezoeker!
The blackbird is the most common and one of the most famous birds in our country. It is even the most numerous breeding bird in the Netherlands. Recently, however, the species has suffered from the usutu virus. Blackbirds are noisy. If a cat is nearby, they warn other animals with their loud alarm call for a long time. The nests are often easy to find, which means that many eggs and young fall prey to cats and crows. Despite these losses, the blackbirds are still very numerous: they compensate for this natural loss by raising many young. In the spring, the blackbird sings a beautiful song from a high place.

There are no less than 80 fens in this stunning green expanse – pretty impressive, right?
Four seasons
Whether it’s the frozen fairy-tale fens of the winter, the dynamics of nature coming to life in spring, the musical croaking of frogs in the summer, or the explosion of colours in the autumn: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are a feast for all the senses.
Spot kingfishers, deer and roe deer, or bear witness to the wide variety of insects and water creatures in the fens and ditches. And after an exhilarating day of activity or sport, head to one of the large terraces to enjoy the peace and quiet and a tasty snack, lunch or dinner.Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens Groot Speijck Visitor Centre has a great terrace, as does Boshuis Venkraai. And both are ideal places to relax and soak up the surroundings.

Vlietermonument op de Afsluitdijk [1933] by architect Willem Dudok, a monument and watchtower, the place where the Afsluitdijk between North-Holland and Friesland was closed in 1932 and the former Zuiderzee, a salt water inlet of the North Sea, was turned into the fresh water lake of the IJsselmeer. from my archives- taken 4 years ago on a trip to my homeland- the Netherlands. We took a tour on the canal at Kinderdijk-- one of the highlights of our time there. It was rather a dark day but we enjoyed it very much! It was my husband's first time in Holland-- a thrill for me!!

First attempt at photographing seasparkle ("zeevonk" ). Not a very good one yet...but the colors in this photo are nice nonetheless
Netherlands, Amsterdam Noord, IJ, Eye Movie museum, Rhineship Junto (cut from B&T)
Passing the rhine-ship 'Junto' and the deconstructivist Eye Movie museum shot from a GVB ferry crossing the IJ. Junto was built in 1925 as a towed barge and converted to a self-propelled rhine-ship in 1957. The Eye Movie Museum (2012) was designed by Roman Delugan & Elke Delugan-Meissl.
Behind it is the base of the neo-modernist 'Amsterdam Lookout' (1971) tower, previously 'Toren Overhoeks' and 'Amsterdam Toren'. It was designed by Arthur Staal (1971) and redeveloped by Klaus and Caan in 2016.

White crocus
Crocus (Crocus) is a genus of the Irid family (Iridaceae), which includes 90 species. About a third of this is autumn flowering.
The crocuses mainly come from the mountains around the Mediterranean Sea. The largest number of species are from the Balkans and Asia Minor, with the exception of Crocus vernus (L.) Hill, which can be found as far as Central Europe (Alps and Carpathians), and a few species such as Crocus alatavicus Semenova & Reg. and Crocus korolkowii Regel ex Maw, which are native to the mountains of Central Asia.

The glass façade of Den Haag Central station. It once was Den Haag SS (Staatsspoor) - demolished in 1970. It is the third incarnation of the station, designed in 2016 by Benthem Crouwel.
In the reflection is the Randstad Rail light rail terminal (ZJA Zwarts & Jansma, 2016).

Europe, The Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Rotterdam, Hoek van Holland, Line B, North Sea, Hoek van Holland Strand Station, Turnstiles (slightly cut from T)
The former 'Hoekse Lijn'—the NS railway line Rottedam-Hoek van Holland—has been converted to light rail and is now an integral part of the Rotterdam metro system. The line, which is being exploited by the Rotterdam municipal public transit organization RET, is now called 'Line B' (Hoek van Holland to Nesselande).
Like the other western stations of this line, Hoek van Holland Strand (Beach), the terminus, was designed by Marc Verheijen of Municipal Works Rotterdam (Gemeentewerken Rotterdam). He used colours to create stylistic unity. Along the line, he presents the voyager with different shades of yellow and red. The specific colour scheme (and in this case the texture too) of the terminus station shown here is meant to refer to the beach (and the sunset).
