Blue grapes
The scientific name is Muscari, but it is better known as grape hyacinths. It contains over 60 species and originates from the Mediterranean region, Central and Southern Europe, North Africa and Central and Southwest Asia. The blue grape is now also found in Northern Europe and the United States. The name Muscari comes from the Greek, moschos, musk and refers to the fragrance. All varieties flower in the spring, but the Muscari parviflorum blooms in the autumn.

Hof Espelo, Enschede, The Netherlands
You can see the versatility of the Twente landscape here: hedgerows, springs, small streams, picturesque vistas and of course special and rare animals and plants. A visit in autumn is recommended because of the many types of mushrooms. Hof Espelo is characterized by old avenues, flowering fields and grassy meadows. The Eschbeek meanders across the estate here, an estate that is surrounded by a very old deciduous forest.

This is number 2 of the Harns/Harlingen album and 31 of Naar het Noorden.

Fragile and at the same time unbreakable.

It was such a white and bright world at the beach.
And no..... in didn't stap into the snow here, it was so.............fragile.

Happy New Year my dear friends. May God bless you and your family.
DE GEST / WIERINGERMEER - April 1, 1945. It's about three weeks before the end of World War II. The Allies have already crossed the IJssel and moved north in a short time. The city of Groningen has been liberated. Only Western Netherlands is still in German hands. In Festung Holland about 118,000 German soldiers were enclosed. On that seventeenth April at 12:15 pm the Germans blew two holes in the dike between the Wieringermeerpolder and the IJsselmeer with explosives. The water level on the IJsselmeer was NAP + 0.12 meters at that time. At the location where they blew up the dike, the ground level in Wieringermeer is on NAP – 3.50 meters. In the 48 hours that followed, the water slowly flowed into the polder, but soon after, the Wieringermeerpolder filled with a wall of water.
Amsterdam - Westermarkt / Prinsengracht / Rozengracht.
View from a temporary auxiliary bridge across the Prinsengracht canal.

Normally I don't use the iPhone for my photos, but yesterday evening, just before I left the office, I looked up at this sky and discovered this amazing sky.
A rather unusual cloudy sky with rain and thunder. There are a lot of different structures in the clouds.
