Besides the buzzard, the kestrel is probably the most common bird of prey in the Netherlands, and you can actually always see them exhibiting religious behavior somewhere above a field where their favorite snack is scurrying around.
I once sat for a while watching a relaxed kestrel sitting in a tree quietly looking around, and then outwitting a mouse. It doesn't seem like a hard life to me.
I have hundreds of photos of kestrels (375 to be exact), and this is probably the last(?). I finally have a view on his upper body in flight and that is the most beautiful part, a beautiful pattern.

Shot from the Waddendijk towards the Nieuwe Willemshaven with, in the BG, a former Navy Minesweeper, the freight ferry 'Terschellingerbank' (1954 - built as 'Bremerhaven' for the Bremerhaven - Nordenham service, now operated by Rederij Waddenstransport) and the lightship Jenni Baynton (aka Light Vessel 8) with its characteristic transmission tower, from the time (between 2005 and 2015) when it was used as radio ship 'Radio Waddenzee’. Behind it, is the Harlingen lighthouse (1922, Otto Jelsma). Btw: the Terschellingerbank towed the Jenni Baynton to her current berth.

Hengelo has a beautiful water attraction. On hot days you can cool off at these jumping fountains. And in the evening, the illuminated fountains with LED lighting create atmosphere on the square. Because the municipality hopes that it will become a meeting square, there are also benches.
The fountain installation has 13 bouncy fountains. These alternately spray the water in arcs of 2.5 meters high. Under each bouncy fountain there are 3 fountains, a total of 39 pieces. These spray water vertically up to 1.5 meters high. Different heights, rhythms and colors can be set. The fountain will be on from approximately March to November.
