Overnight I got an email from Fuji X Weekly about a brand new Kodak Plus-X 125 custom film recipe for Fujifilm cameras.
As Plus-X was one of my favorite films, I immediately added the recipe my X100V, and took my camera on a trip downtown to see how well it worked. I was not disappointed!
I was a bit surprised to find out that you can buy this in the grocery store. A friend of mine highly recommended it, but I haven't tried any yet. At roughly $10/can, it's a bit out of my budget.
My daughter and I stayed at The Hostel California during our trip to the Eastern Sierras. This is a view of the back area of the hostel where most of the guests like to visit and swap stories of their experiences on the trail. These people are laid back and very friendly. It is a great place to relax after a day out on the road.
My friend and I stayed here a couple of years ago on a photo shoot. We came during the same time of year and found out there aren't any motel rooms available because of Mule Days in Bishop. The Hostel let us stay on the porch in our sleeping bags and have a run of the place. They have a community kitchen in a very cool 100 year old house. We loved it so much we booked a bed for the next night.
My kids all loved my story of The Hostel California and have wanted to come and experience it also. My oldest daughter was able to go with me this time and we had a fantastic time exploring the canyons up and down Highway 395. If you follow me, I will be posting quite a few pictures over the next few days with more stories. Happy shooting!
