That Pedal Show

It is Warmoth Wednesday and I seem to be the only person that posts on Instagram with that hash tag. I don't care!

Madison's car was ready this morning. $80 for a new serpentine belt and pulley. Of couse I had to pay for the repair. The shop is in Etna so way beyond Reynoldsburg! It took forever to get there and it was a shady place. Where did Lee find this guy and why? Oh well, Madison has a functional car now.

I went to meet a guy about trading my Mesa/Boogie Mark IIb combo for his Fender Super Sonic 22. Jeff was a really cool guy and it was crappy that it was raining when I went to his house. He helped me carry the amp in. His Super Sonic sounded good. The foot switch cable was at his rehearsal space and he has replaced the amp handle. He said there was an issue with the reverb but I don't care about reverb. Then...he tried the Boogie. He was happy with it until he noticed a buzz. He stopped playing and I noticed it too. This was new. He had turned the reverb up to about 4 (I never used the reverb on the Boogie) but I didn't think anything about that. So, the deal fell through and I packed up and left.

I stopped at Chipotle on my way home and shot Rob a message on Facebook while I was in line about the noise with the amp. He suggested it might be a bad tube and that would be a no-cost repair as the tubes are under warranty. I will drop it off to him tomorrow and hopefully get this issue fixed.

Happy Birthday Les Paul

Les Paul would have been 105 today. I had to recognize that amazing man. Modern recording and the electric guitar would not be the same without Les Pauls innovations and inventions.

I spent way too much time in front of a computer screen in 2020. One of the habits I picked up along with actually playing my guitar more, was watching videos not about playing guitar or learning to play guitar but about gear. I still keep saying I will buy if not my dream guitar than close to it, then I'll need an amp and ultimately some pedals.
