Now textless for the international markets, ready for the interplanetary markets. And with cheaper printing to boot. Based on something a friend said I imagine it will eventually just be a green circle on a white cup.
The Dragon Reborn
The Original cover for book three of The Wheel of Time, originally published in 1991.
This has always been my favorite of the original book covers painted by Darrell K. Sweet. My favorite despite the inaccuracies, and the rather terrible costume choices. For years I've wanted to build this (while fixing some of those inaccuracies.)
Rand's original outfit was nothing like what it is the book. At this point he was wearing simple clothing with a brown cloak.
Callandor shines with a white light and its blade is single-edged and slightly curved, unlike the straight blade in the painting.
Finally I removed Mat and Perrin, they are in completely different parts of the fortress at this point in the book, and overall I felt like they would have distracted from the main scene anyways.
