This castle houses a bed and breakfast,and only guests who stay there are allowed on this (private) property,as a staff member told me. They where anti photographer there, we had to go. But after I took a few photo's
The field has been already known since 1350 and has known a rich (construction) history. In the castle are also today a lot of paintings and images which refer among other things to the family history of the successive occupants. Its current view got the castle in 1875, when the couple of Caloen de Besseghem-de Neve de Rode both the exterior and the interior in the then prevalent neo-gothic style let rebuilt and embellishes by the well-known Antwerp architect Schadde. Most striking adaptation, however,was the rebuilding of the castle tower-donjon that during the middle ages stood there.
When I was there an angry man shouting, out the window that I may not make photo's from the castle.
Well I took some.
A wonderful night when the sun set as gloriously as it can. I remember nights like these when I have a sudden frantic dash to try to use as many foregrounds as possible. Unusually for me this photo hasn't got any great foreground interest, and for that reason I overlooked it for a long while, but it's simplicity finally brought me round. Some times simplicity is perfect. Ten Times Sweeter Than You is a reggae version by Winston Francis. The day has started well with a successful early morning shop so it's time for the morning breakfast disco :))))

The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde (Dutch: Prinselijk Begijnhof Ten Wijngaerde) is the only preserved beguinage in the Belgian city of Bruges. There are no more Beguines living there, but since 1927 it has functioned as a convent for Benedictines, founded by canon Hoornaert. In the same year the houses at the west side were also reshaped and enlarged into the Monasterium De Wijngaard, a priory of Benedictine nuns.
The complex includes a gothic beguinage church and about thirty white painted houses dating from the late 16th, 17th and 18th century. Practically all of these are built around a central yard. The main entrance with gate can be reached via the three-arched stone bridge, the Wijngaard Bridge. In a bay the image of the holy Elizabeth of Hungary can be seen, who was the patron of many beguinages. De Wijngaard is also devoted to Saint Alexius. The entrance gate was built in 1776 by master mason Hendrik Bultynck. The first Beguine house next to the entrance is furnished as a museum and the exhibition includes paintings, 17th and 18th century furniture and lacework, among others. A second gate gives access to the Sas House, via the Sas Bridge.

An overview of Burlington Northern’s 23rd Street locomotive facility in Denver, Colorado, on May 18, 1991, reveals some interesting sights. Power used on BN “beer run” trains from 31st Street Yard in Denver out to Coors in Golden is a trio of former Great Northern passenger-hauling SDP40s, Nos. 6398, 6397 and 6399, resting between runs at the facility. Ten EMD SD9s are gathered, along with a trio of Santa Fe SD40-2s. On the left is a group of GE B39-8 LMX units, mixed into some Cascade green EMD SD40-2s. In the middle of it all is BN ballast hopper No. 958347, white-lined and upside down. It seems like a weird location to scrap a car, and it looked like it had some ballast in it before it was turned over. Perhaps it was brought in for repair and derailed—but I have no idea how it ended up in its predicament. This place has changed (just a little bit…) since this photo.

C&BL #104 crosses the Conemaugh River over the Ten Acre Bridge, built in 1901, after delivering gondolas to the wire mill. During the days of Bethlehem Steel, the C&BL ran around the clock with at least a dozen active switchers. On this day, not even two hours had passed, and their day had already come to an end.
De meivakantie 2019 bracht ons gezin in Denemarken. Een heerlijk weekje bij de kust. We verbleven bij Emmerlev Klev. Iets ten noorden van ons vakantieverblijf zijn fraaie zandsteenkliffen te vinden en ten zuiden de Marschbahn. Beiden heb aantrekkingskracht, maar de Marschbahn heeft voor een treinenliefhebber toch net iets meer te bieden. Vooral omdat deze fraaie lijn nog steeds het toneel is van de prachtige diesellocs van de serie 218 en deels nog klassieke beveiliging.
De volledige IC-dienst vanaf Westerland en een deel van de in opdracht van DB Fernverkehr gereden autotreinen tussen Westerland (hoofdplaats van het eiland Sylt) wordt nog gereden door diesellocs van de serie 218. Daar DB zelf niet over genoeg machines beschikt, worden momenteel 218’s gehuurd van Railsystems RP GmbH. Bekend is de inzet van drie locomotieven in het oude ozeanblau beige. Nu las ik vlak voor onze vakantie dat deze machines weer richting het zuiden waren gegaan. Geen inzet meer op de Marschbahn dus. Dat was flink balen. Als troostprijs waren de 218 402 en 218 488 gestuurd. Zeker de 402 is een fraaie verschijning met het bekende “Lätzchen”, maar zeker geen ozeanblau beige.
Op dinsdagochtend 30 april stond ik te balen, omdat de beloofde zon verscheen in de vorm van potdichte mist. Als grote verrassing kwam echter uit diezelfde mist ineens een koppel 218’s in ozeanblau beige langs Lehnshallig rijden. Ze waren toch weer terug! Nu was het extraatje in de vorm van de 402 en 488 alleen maar extra gaaf!
Op vrijdagochtend 3 mei ging ik mijn geluk nog eens beproeven om nog meer foto’s van het fraaie koppel ozeanblau beige locs te maken. Het was die ochtend echt geluk hebben met de zon. Deze kwam af en toe door het wolkenpakket heen. Een paar keer op het juiste moment en dat levert mooie plaatjes op. Ik begon de dag bij Lehnshallig om in de bekende bocht bij het voorsein een aantal foto’s te maken. Ik kreeg helaas net als afgelopen dinsdag weer bezoek van een grote kudde spoorwerkers die uitgerekend bij het fraaie armsein aan het werk moesten. Daarom vertrok ik naar een plek iets ten noorden van Klanxbüll waar ook een fraai armsein staat.
Net toen de zon weer even wat door de wolken kwam, zag ik de spoorwegovergang achter me dichtgaan. Het armsein werd op stand veilig gezet en in de verte hoorde ik al een koppel 218’s ronken. Tot mijn grote vreugde zag ik in de verte de fraaie RP-locs over de bult komen. Hier zien we de door RP 218 490-1 en 218 480-2 langs het noordelijke voorsein van Klanxbüll rijden met autotrein AS 1413 Westerland (Sylt)-Niebüll op vrijdag 3 mei 2019. Nog geen minuut na deze foto schoof de zon weer achter de wolken.

The Morris Ten is a medium-sized car introduced for 1933 as the company's offering in the important 10 hp sector of the British market. It continued through a series of variants until October 1948 when along with Morris's Twelve and Fourteen it was replaced by the 13.5 hp Morris Oxford.
This 1946 Morris Ten, EP 9268, is seen during a heritage event at Quorn station on 21st November 2021.

Its a bit difficult to spot all of the points due to the background on this shot, and its not as sharp as I would like, but considering this is the largest whitetail buck I've ever seen, I had to post it.
CSX K634 at Bergen, NY. Some of my older stuff really sucks, but I got a few good ones. Back home on CSX for fall break in 2015, Ian and Nick tipped me off to this guy off the CP coming east, so I picked a spot where I thought there was a good chance I wouldn't have shadows and kept chasing from there. KCS Belles that looked this good were not nearly as hard to come by on the KCS then, but on CSX they were! And now they all look awful!
