Aku tak pasti apa yg di menungkan warga emas ni...umpama jauh belayarkan kisah-kisah lepas..sedangkan waktu ni adalah waktu kemuncak si pengantin berarak menuju ke pelamin..dengan riuh rendah paluan kompang, dengan penanggahmya ke hulu ke hilir, tetamu silih berganti.. tetapi wajah dia tetap tenang...
Pengantin tidak ku pedulikan malah lensa mannual 70-300mm aku ni tertarik pada riak wajah tua nih...auranya begitu kuat sehinggakan aku sendiri tertewas..aku agak emo dan ketaksuban aku terhadap wajah-wajah begini amat mendalam dan mudah tersentuh..
Suatu hari aku juga akan menempuh liku-liku ini...dan bagaimanakah aku ketika itu??

From a fine 1937 official guide to the City of Coventry, that was designed and produced to a very high standard with some attention to typography and layout, an advert for GEC's Coventry Telephone Works.
GEC, the major British producer of "all things electric" had started to dabble in telecommunications equipment early on in the Twentieth Century with equipment manufactured at the Peel Works in Manchester but it was with their employment of an American Merritt Scott Conner in c1909 that they really started to focus on telephony and updating their product range. This led to GEC forming the Peel-Conner Company and it was in 1915 that Conner suggested a site at Stoke in Coventry would make a suitable base for a new telephone factory.
Post-WW1 GEC developed the Coventry site as seen here, liquidated the Peel-Conner Company rebranding all products as GEC and in 1923 Conner returned to the US. GEC benefitted from the growth in telephony and the investment made by the GPO, who then ran the UK's telecommunications network, in both 'phone appartus and exchange equipment through the 'bulk supply agreements'. By the date of this advert GEC had expanded on the Coventry site and during the war years, when they made vital radio equipment, their presence in the city grew further. The long and complex saga of the history of GEC's telecommunications business meant that ultimately the site of the works here involved both Ericsson and Telent who vacated the Stoke site early in the present century and the site is now cleared for redevelopment.

Associated Electrical Industries Ltd (AEI) were a group of engineering companies across Britain, of which their Coventry factory produced parts for civil and military aircraft. Aviation components produced at Coventry included aircraft ignition systems, switchgear, airborne power generating units and electric motors. In addition to a range of social and activities clubs for company employees, there was also the Ex-servicemen’s Association that provided meeting facilities as well as organising annual reunion dinners for their members.
AEI was established in 1926 as a financial holding company for their group of electrical and engineering manufacturers. As part of a company reorganisation in 1960, the group were collectively renamed as Associated Electrical Industries (AEI) and from 1961 the name ‘AEI’ began to appear on their products. By this stage however, AEI was in financial difficulties and in 1967 were acquired by the General Electric Company (GEC) for £120 million.

Yesterday we saw the left hand panel. Today is the right hand panel.
Still going with the theme of the cotton industry,lengths of cloth run to the floor depicting the telecommunications industry. Plessey set up a telecoms factory in Carr Lane in the 1960s. The factory is still in production but under the ownership of Telent.
Another length of cloth spills out our local delicacy, Chorley Cakes.
Also depicted here is Chorley Town Hall and the transport infrastructure.
These bronze and mosaic panels are real treasures.

Matera 9 Luglio 2010 – Mario Spada continua a mietere successi. E’ ufficiale, questa sera, il giovane materano Spada dopo la partecipazione al telent show X Factor (ottobre 2009) di mamma Rai, al bando della Regione Basilicata “Basilicata Rock – Basilicata Pop” tramite il quale ha studiato lo scorso marzo presso il Cet music di Mogol e vari concerti nella città di Milano questa sera salirà sull’ambito palco di Radionorba Battiti live 2010.
Nella storica piazza Vittorio Veneto Spada, per la prima tappa del tour dell’emittente radiofonica Radionorba (che organizza l’ evento da otto anni, ricevendo nel 2009 il Media Award come miglior radio locale d’Italia), in apertura canterà, per la prima volta, il suo inedito.
Emozionato, prima della sua partenza da Milano ha dichiarato: tanto onore per questa mia prima performance nella mia amata città. Ringrazio con sincera stima lo staff di Radionorba. L’ inedito, “Saveme (Lo senti)” è autoprodotto e io ne sono l’autore, è un assaggio di quello che sto’ scrivendo a Milano, un progetto che spero si concluda dopo l’estate.
In merito, Titta De Tommasi, direttore artistico di Telenorba e direttore artistico del Battiti Live ha affermato: Spada è un personaggio noto, con qualità e potenzialità che meritano di essere ascoltate, soprattutto nella sua città, nonchè la nostra prima tappa 2001 e l’ unica in Basilicata, quindi l’occasione giusta.
Gli artisti che proseguiranno dopo l’ apertura di Mario Spada saranno: l’ altra lucana, Arisa, Francesco Renga, Lost, Après la Classe, Irene Fornaciari, Omar Pedrini, Valerio Scanu, Paolo Menecuzzi e Pierdavide Carone.

Nicknamed "The Tool Shed," Golson was a first round draft pick by the Phillies in 2004. His career path to the majors didn't go as smoothly as the Phillies would have liked, bu he made his major league debut with the Phillies in August, 2008. After the 2008 season, he was traded to the Texas Rangers for their former first round pick, John Mayberry Jr.
Golson started the season with the AAA Oklahoma City Redhawks and was promoted to the Rangers on May 4 with Josh Hamilton on the Disabled List. Golson is definately multi-talented, and if he can trasform that telent into major league success, he could become an everyday player in the big leagues.
The first baseman in the photo is Joe Koshansky, who spent parts of last season with the Rockies, then the Rangers claimed him off waivers for a couple days, until the Milwaukee Brewers claimed him off waivers again and placed him in AAA with the Nashville Sounds.
