I sat on the sofa by candlelight, had my tablet on my lap and happened to come to the photo app and thought that looks cosy….and📷
and not a cake in sight...
I feel certain that Gary, who runs Margo's Southern Tea House where I sometime stop for refreshment on my walks, thinks I am a mad woman photographer (which I am) as I have been asking for my coffee in different coloured cups in order to construct this collage.
I've been disappointed this year not to be able to get a decent shot of the greater spotted woodpeckers that visit us in the early summer with their young. This was one from a couple of years ago that I felt was in need of some re-editing - an oversized youngster enjoying his peanuts!

"I honestly don't think that I want to take a relaxing bath in boiling hot water", said the tea bag. It didn't have to as I don't like tea and only needed a photo for this week's 'Smile on Saturday' group theme 'Tea-rific'. Although I don't drink tea I know that usually the tea bag goes in first and the hot water afterwards but I had to change the rules as I wanted the steam in my photo. Let's call it artistic freedom. :) HSoS !
Just a random capture taken at a small exhibition which mainly shows table decorations. It's not particularly interesting but a nice place to play around with various angles and compositions.
Das MM thema "Hard Light" wirft seine Schatten voraus. ;)
The MM "Hard Light" theme is casting its shadow ahead. ;)

The Chinese House, also known as "Teahouse", is a garden pavilion at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sanssouci Park. The Chinese House was designed by Prussian king Frederick the Great himself (just like Sanssouci Palace) in the then very popular "Chinoiserie" style. Frederick modeled it on the trefoil-shaped Maison du trefle, a 1738 garden pavilion on the castle grounds of Lunéville, France. The Chinese House was built by garden architect Johann Gottfried Bühring between 1755 and 1764. The comparatively long construction time of nine years is attributed to the Seven Year War which put considerable strain on Prussia's public purse. As late as 1763, after the end of the Seven Year War, the Chinese House was finally furnished. Since the Chinese House did not only serve as decorative garden architecture, but also housed social events, Frederick the Great had a "Chinese Kitchen" built nearby - speaking of which: Do you remember my capture of the small green house with the pink ornaments and "steering wheel" shaped windows (please see first comment)? At the time I'd uploaded it I couldn't find any information on it, but my research about the Chinese House was a direct hit. It's the Chinese Kitchen ;-) If you look closely, you'll find the same meandering pink decoration on the Chinese House.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear Flickr friends!
