Lake Balboa, CA - This was a fun project; I took some shots of an 1/18 scale RC Truck while in motion. Had to get real close and that's why I used my trusty Canon 10-18mm lens. The hand held camera was inches from the ground. It was more challenging then expected but was well worth the end result. Next time I am going to find a patch of dirt with smaller rocks, this way it will give it a more 'scale' look.
We interrupt my regular LEGO and train based shenanigans for something completely different.
I have had an infatuation with RC cars since childhood. My Dad and I even raced them when I was younger. One of the cars I always dreamed of owning from my earliest days in the hobby has been an original RC10. It was the daddy of off road RC racing, The first true car designed from the ground up for serious racing. It's a history making car. Last year Team Associated brought it back for a limited rerelease and I jumped at the chance to own one. The classic racer I dreamed of for years was mine. Associated though wasn't content with just a release of the original. They then had to go and rerelease the Worlds Car. The Worlds Car was the final evolution of the original RC10 chassis. Combining 10 years of race winning experience and all the hop up parts you could want, it was the ultimate RC10. So I had to have it too. A perfect set to chronicle the RC10's history.
So now I have two awesome RC cars and finally rounded up all the stuff I need to put them together and run them. This is going to be one of my winter projects. More photos of my progress in the weeks to come.

Gee that was quick. How did I get the body painted and trimmed so fast?
Well to be honest I picked this body up already painted in the classic RC10 box art colors, and pre trimmed from a gentleman on ebay. He did a killer job and it was worth the price. I don't pan to actually run this body though, it's way too nice. This one is just for show. I plan to actually paint another body myself to use when I'm out running the car. Luckily I'm much better with paint than solder.
So beside painting the other body and some fine tuning the car is ready to race. And it looks good.
