Jorgia (who would be known as Josephine later in life) wasn’t one to enjoy being the center of attention. However, when she was asked to demonstrate an advanced transfiguration in her first class at Grindelbane Academy, she was eager to prove to the others exactly why she was invited a year earlier than most. At the age of 17, Jorgia Prynce was already so much more than just another pretty half-Veela. No… she was much more. With her special talents in transfiguration and the added bonus of her half-heritage abilities, the ex-Hufflepuff was ready to start this new chapter of her life and begin her journey towards achieving her goal of becoming an Auror. “Aeris Caelum!” She said. The tip of her wand began to glow blue as a cloud began to form on the ceiling above the class. With a loud crack and the rumble of thunder, it was not only clear that her attempt at the spell had succeeded, but that her weeks of practicing the spell in her poor step-mother’s living room had finally paid off.

Since Pan Am is in the news lately I figured I would put up a few Pan Am shots from my trip in 2015. In 2015 GSP was kind enough to give me the full 1 week tour of New England railroading. We had mostly good luck with the weather and managed to shoot a number of the Guilford Highhood GP40s which were high on my list. Probably the most impressive consist was this quartet with two GP40s leading POWA. Unfortunately due to a failed attempt at the Maine Eastern (which we later more than made up for) we missed most of the well lit opportunities of this train but this one came out quite nice. Here the train is approaching Leeds Junction with 373 leading 377. At Leeds they would swap the locos around for some long forgotten reason.

On Easter's Evening TBT April 19th

Algoma Central FP9A 1752 and friends bask in the golden sunset of a beautiful Sault St. Marie evening in August 1996. We had just returned from a private car charter round trip up to Hearst and back.
The photo was taken yesterday but the consist is a real throwback. One of 4 SD50's remaining in YN2 paint leads Q211 through Emory, GA. The unit still sported a Leslie RS5T too!
Four Maroon C420 glow in the last light of day as the Monnet turn chugs back into Rogers. As I was taking this I realized this was one of the last times this would ever happen....turns out I was wrong but it was still the last time for me.

This week in 1998, space shuttle Discovery and STS-91 launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center on the ninth and final Shuttle-Mir docking mission. Between March 1995 and May 1998, NASA and Russian scientists conducted experiments on the Russian space station designed to answer vital questions about how humans function in space and how to build future space stations. Today, the Payload Operations Integration Center at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center serves as "science central" for the International Space Station, working 24/7, 365 days a year in support of the orbiting laboratory's scientific experiments. The NASA History Program is responsible for generating, disseminating, and preserving NASA's remarkable history and providing a comprehensive understanding of the institutional, cultural, social, political, economic, technological, and scientific aspects of NASA's activities in aeronautics and space.
