This was one of my dad's radios he'd listen to during the day, especially when he was in the bathroom. It's still there & reminds me of him. It's not so bad having some of his things around. They're nice reminders that he was alive.

In a remark extraordinary even by the standards of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing radio heavyweight declared on his program Wednesday that the United States needed to return to racially segregated buses.
Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”
A full transcript of Limbaugh’s comments on his radio show is available at MediaMatters.org.
Limbaugh’s comments came after a called complained to say that local law enforcement said the attack probably wasn’t racially motivated. The incident had been hyped by the conservative Drudge Report, which posted a video of the fracas.
“Police initially said the beating of the white student by two black students appeared to be racially motivated,” the Associated Press wrote. “But police on Tuesday backed away from that.”
That didn’t stop Limbaugh from making his comments Wednesday.
“In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh also said. “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.”

NPR calls Juan Williams a bigot for his remarks on muslims? Who the hell doesn't feel the same way when muslims board the same plane as you do in their traditional garb ? I like Mr. Williams and "some" of his viewpoints. The liberal bigot maggots at NPR are all about making an example of someone who exercises freedom of speech. I would like to see Juan as a reporter for Fox News. I believe he would do quite well. I'll take Juan over Allen any day!

The News Building is a 17-storey office block in the London Bridge area of London that forms part of the Shard Quarter development. It houses all of News UK's London operations, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, talkSPORT, TalkRADIO, Times Radio, Virgin Radio, and the book publisher HarperCollins. It was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, who also designed The Shard across the piazza, and was financed by Qatar, which is behind the Shard Quarter development.
The News Building was known as The Place and The Baby Shard until 2014, when its name was changed. It was built on the site of the demolished New London Bridge House, designed by Richard Seifert, and was completed in 2013. At its base is a rebuilt bus and rail hub, London Bridge station.
The building was opened on 16 September 2014 by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
In January 2017, Sky News opened its new Business Studio in the building. The studio housed Ian King Live, Sky's flagship evening business TV programme, as well as business bulletins. In September 2019, Sky moved its business studios to join sister channel CNBC Europe at 10 Fleet Place.

A sweltering 92 degree day at 6 Flags as I set my camera and hand it to a stranger who surprisingly did not cut off our heads - Thank goodness I had the flash off: as if our faces are not aglow enough in the terrarium-like 90F+ conditions. She just signed her name... it was a long line, no time to personalize the page. She said one thing: "Oooh Che!" and smiled. I said, "Thanks, good luck with everything."

"An Evening with John Batchelor" at the Times Square Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday Oct 26 from 9p-midnight.
For nearly a decade now I have been a listener and fan of John Batchelor, the only talk radio host I'll listen to, or is worth listening to, precisely because he is so unlike talk radio and his peers. He is literate and intelligent and respectful – and the way he reports and analyzes everything from foreign policy and economics to modern science and american history, is akin to Homer spinning his ancient tales of old. Compelling, to say the least. Or as I like to call it: "Story Time for Grown Ups" (only the stories are real). So you can imagine how much of a thrill it was to see him live and in person doing what he does best.
