The dog is obviously a Nikon fan because he doesn't listen to a word I say! :)
Morning coffee prior to walking up Stuc a Chroin, a munro north of Callander in the Trossachs area of Central Scotland - a completely stunning day with blue skys and crisp air. Cliffy the Min Pin is completely engrossed with the safety briefing which stipulates staying away from sheep and my lunch!!!!

This result was taken on a very fruitful day in November 2019, when lots of fog was hanging around on the hills and valleys. If you are going to visit the woods as well, leave nothing than your footprints and do not take anything than your impressions.

The Eastern Screech Owl was peacefully snoozing the afternoon away when she had a visitor. The Red-bellied Woodpecker stopped by, likely to check on a cache she had stashed away in the cavity where the Screech was roosting.
As a thick cover of fog laid over the hills and valleys around, this day in November offered superb opportunities for woodland photography throughout the day.

Take a Hike Day...well, we tried but at our chosen destination the weather was dreadful, sudden gale force winds, rain and tree debris blocking some roads....main roads closed due to fallen trees. So we followed the diversions and headed back home to our 'local park', Trentham Gardens and hiked around the lake...stopping occasionally when we spotted some fungi before the next lot of rain set in!
Played around with this shot as I wanted to show how "breezy' the day turned out to be :))

This day in June, I had a nice soft light on this woodland scenery close to where I live. Was attracted by the rich green tones and the wild ambiance of this woodland.

Macro Mondays. This week's theme: Staying Healthy
Taking a hike is as good a way as any to do just that. HMM!
A short hike off the highway through Custer State Park. This was my first time in the park and I found it to be a beautiful park.
Hike No. 1 of 2026 - Raulston Falls
The first hike for 2026 brought us to a waterfall here on the mountain, one I have been to before but a first for Beccy (who's in the background taking pictures!).
It was a lovely day out for a hike, the trail was a little wet, but all around such a great time spent together- checking off another Waterfall off our list, and put on a few miles for my 2026 goal of 150 miles!

Witnessed a nice set of dramatic clouds over this corn field. It appeared as the plants were praying to the clouds to give the rain.

Standing 94-feet, Ganoga Falls is the tallest of the 22 named waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park. The air and mist coming off the water as it rushes over the rocks lowers the temperature and the sound is almost deafening.
(Actually, a smaller section of falls that flows below Oneida.)
I spent Friday hiking at Ricketts Glen State park. RGSP is comprised of 13,000+ acres and spans Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia Counties in Pennsylvania. The Glens Natural area holds 22 free-flowing waterfalls that cascade through the hillside. The hiking is difficult at times but is well worth the effort. This is a section of smaller falls that flows just below one of the most popular in the park, Oneida Falls, which you can see in the upper-right background.
Lucky Dunkel. Our hike this week allowed for a 7 mile hike, on private land, along a stream the whole way. Off leash too! It did rain pretty much the whole hike, but neither of us cared. :-) It was heaven.

Last weekend, I headed out early to catch the sunrise and ended up going a little further than I had planned. As I was turning around in the parking lot near Twin Sisters which overlooks the Estes Valley, I remembered the back of this merchandise truck that now marks the entrance to Seven Keys Lodge (what used to be Baldpate Inn). I love the mural that is painted on the back door of the truck, and it is positioned so nicely to provide some side framing of the valley below. Between the mural and the gorgeous colors of the sunrise, I just couldn't pass it up.
Have a great Friday!!!

Look at that color, melting together in the evening sky. On the horizon you can see the mountain ranges of the Black Forest and Palatine Forest.

Stumbled across this image back from May 2020 when I was out in the evening for a fast shoot across the soft hills and meadows of Northern Black Forest. Enjoyed this nice constellation of fast moving, textured clouds.

On a walk through the June Forest I found this nice woodland scene. Despite the scene lacks a bit of atmosphere and light, I liked the tree trunks as they look like the pillars of the leaf canopy. Definitely a scene to return to.
