Tabaxi were a reclusive people who often avoided interaction with other intelligent races. However, as each tabaxi possessed a specific feline trait, some had an innate curiosity that compelled them to travel and seek out stories, artifacts, new experiences, and knowledge, never remaining in the same place or obsessing over the same piece of lore for too long

For millennia, the Ducican Kingdom has flourished under the rule of the Waterthorne royal family. Following the end of a civil war a few decades ago between the seven different houses united under this kingdom, there has not been any conflict in years.

But it seems like the peace has come to an end.

Ever since the current queen banished her son Jilan Waterthorne from the kingdom, things have been shaky. Jilan has struck a deal with an old enemy of hers, and the two have been gathering an army to take over control of the throne. Despite her staying confident that the two won’t pose an actual threat, the entire kingdom is able to see almost the entire royal guard getting killed in a siege with the enemy.

-The villains

Zardica: Once a loyal advisor who worked right alongside the Queen of Ducican, now a dark Sorcerer with an intense hatred for the royal family after an unknown event split the two apart. Following years of intense studying into Dark Magic, her once beautiful skin has now turned almost completely pitch black.

Jilan Waterthorne: For years, Jilan was seen as a worthy successor to the throne of Ducican. But his entire reputation fell apart on the night that he attempted to murder his own mother and current queen of the kingdom, Meyse Waterthorne under the point of view that his mother had ruled for long enough. After a lengthy trial, his mother decides to banish her son from the kingdom for good. Without any food or money, Jilan gets put outside the walls of the kingdom and is left wandering in the dark forests for days on end. This ends when he meets a dark Sorcerer named Zardica who holds an equally big grudge against the queen of Ducican. She strikes a deal with Jilan, where on the condition that she will get complete access to the countless magic artifacts stored in the vaults under the Waterthorne castle she is willing to help the Paladin take over the throne.

-The heroes

Sodma Longclaw: A Tabaxi Fighter, who after the tragic death of her family during the civil war ended up as a refugee in Ducican. Despite her species often being looked down on by most citizens of the kingdom, she was eventually taken in by an old material arts teacher who taught her how to defend herself with the use of a scimitar. Years later, following the murder of her teacher by an unknown assasin, Sodma decided to venture outside the walls of Ducican to take revenge for her mentor.

Telthryl: A Dwarf who spent most of his life in the mines under Ducican as a miner until a few years ago. One day, while Telthryl was mining for valuable ores in the mines, he accidentally discovered a cave with a dragon sleeping in it. After further mining woke the beast up, the dragon went on a rampage through the mines resulting in the death of every single one of Telthryl’s fellow mineworkers. Hellbent on avenging his fallen comrades, he abandoned his profession and taught himself how to use a big double-sided axe. Upon returning to the caves and confronting the dragon, he was able to become one of the first people to single-handedly take down a dragon in years. Following this achievement, Telthryl became a Barbarian and made it his profession to take down dangerous creatures.

Katjasik Hallowridge: A Human Bard who values music over everything. Despite being raised in a family filled with famous Clerics, Katjasik had more interest in the magic of music. After discovering an old musical instrument in the cellar of the Hallowridge mansion, he decided to pursue a future in studying music. His parents were far from happy with this decision though; after a heated argument about him not becoming a Cleric like all of his ancestors, he got kicked out of the house. Despite him having to sleep on the streets for a while, eventually he found a lot of success in performing in local bars for money. After learning how to use his music to cast spells too, he joined up with Telthryl and Sodma to form a ragtag group of mercenaries.

Following the defeat of the royal army, the queen of Ducican has no choice but to ask for mercenaries to defeat the evil forces. The group who succeeds in doing so, will be rewarded with a third of the queen’s wealth. Because this reward is one too big to pass up on, Somda, Telthryl and Katjasik decide to take on the task together.

Will these three brave heroes be able to stop Zardica and Jilan from taking over the kingdom? Only time will tell.

My entry for BrickStudios D&D contest on Instagram.

A small castle/Fantasy Figbarf.

These are representations of the new characters my friends and I are playing in our new weekly D&D game.

I may well do a white background shot of these figures if there is interest in seeing them all up close :)

Hello all, here is a build I made in a couple days of a dnd character I came up with. They are a tabaxi engineer based in the spelljammer setting. I really liked how he came out so I thought I’d try my hand at making a brickbuilt character version. For a first attempt I am really happy, but I know I can still improve so feel free to leave any thoughts you have — Logan.

Geömbal and Da'wi'n (Dungeons and Dragons version of gumball and darwin form the show The Amazing World of Gumball).

Geömbal is a tabaxi berserker barbarian. Da'wi'n is a merfolk tempest domain cleric.

MARVEL X D&D: ASSEMBLED.

We're finally here! The past two weeks, I brought you reimaginings of thirteen characters in the Marvel Universe, seeing how they would be brought into a D&D fantasy setting. We've seen everything from Black Panther being made into a tabaxi, to the mummification of Sandman. Here you'll find all thirteen of my entries to the series, gathered together(even if they'd never team up in the first place)! From left to right, we have:

Doc Ock: Artificer.

Enchantress: Bard.

Scarlet Witch: Sorcerer.

Taskmaster: Fighter.

Ghost Rider: Paladin.

Doctor Strange: Wizard.

Black Widow: Rogue.

Black Panther: Monk.

Jean Grey: Warlock.

Drax: Barbarian.

Sandman: Druid.

Hawkeye: Ranger.

Anti-Venom: Cleric.

Which character was your favorite?

Any characters you wish I included?

This is my party for the Greymane's Haven Adventuring Guild ongoing challenge hosted over on @greymane_guild on Instagram! As these characters have come together, you may have noticed the theme: they're all monstrous! Or monstrous-adjacent. You get the gist. For their story, read on!

Though a great many people live in the main cities of the realm, and a great and diverse cast of characters bustle about their busy streets, there are a few individuals the common people would... rather not do business with, to say the least. An indisputably large portion of these folk come from the village of Montown, nestled in the heart of the Oarbrook Forest. Montown is a place that can be described a number of different ways, depending on who you ask. To some, it is a place of ill repute, where only the desperate go to work. To others, it's a trifle that doesn't deal enough in actual currency of the civilized world to justify trade with. To more yet still, Montown is a home, when much of the world bristles in the presence of their kind. Inhabited by all manners of mortals, the village holds a rather prodigious population of people hailing fron heritages commonly classified as "monstrous" or "exotic," including orcs, minotaurs, kobolds, tabaxi, bugbears, and much, much more. What much of the realm sees as a cesspool full of brigands, charlatans, and ne'er-do-wells, many of these folks see as a haven where they don't need to sanitize their looks, behavior, or even cuisine to fit in.

Coming from this boisterous settlement, we find the heroes of the moment: the Montown Mob. A group of four adventurers well-known in their birthplace for being effective, if a little chaotic, this party is one whose got its sights set on the Greymane's Haven Adventuring Guild. When the call went out for a force of heroes to rise up and oppose the coming threat of the returning Lich King, four brave and lightly demented individuals rose to the occasion to put Montown on the map, and bring respect to their kin. There's Sythil, the Lizardfolk Ranger with a knack for carving bones, Marybeth, the Kenku Barbarian with an unsettling intense demeanor, Borgoop, the Plasmoid Monk who can't ever seem to disappear without leaving a trace, and Pushnik, the Goblin Cleric whose patience when it comes to steering his allies down the right path seems without end. When a situation gets grave, Marybeth is always ready to plunge headfirst into danger. When the way forward is obscured, none know strategy and a path to victory quite like Sythil. When the party is pushed to its breaking point, no one is quite as flexible or full of new ideas as Borgoop. And when the antics of those three nearly land them plummeting off the edge of a cliff, well, it's Pushnik's sage wisdom and sound heart that keep them alive to continue the good work. Though the party has a long ways to go before taking on any truly great evils, it's safe to say: the Lich King will never know what exploits to expect from the Montown Mob. And frankly, neither will Pushnik.

MARVEL X D&D: THE MONK

This is the seventh post of a series that explores what a number of fantastical Marvel characters would be if they were one of the 13 different classes of Dungeons and Dragons (5e). The seventh of these classes is the Monk.

Black Panther (Way of the Shadow)

The Black Panther is a mantle taken by many over the ages, though the abilities always remain roughly the same. The Black Panther is capable of nullifying projectiles, highly skilled in martial arts, and often uses stealth and ambushes to attack his enemies. Perhaps the easiest interpretation of the Black Panther is that he is in fact a tabaxi, as well.

Tabaxi are already kleptomaniacs, but now they play music, too.

Well, I got this thimble off of Ebay ... it is a Nevada souvenir thimble ... I got my first Preiser fairy (standing, with much smaller wings that broke off) from there as well, to use as a figurine in D&D. I wanted a tiny sprite or pixie figurine (for some reason, Preiser refers to this and the other I just mentioned as elfe ) who was femine looking. Preiser's HO Scale figurines were really the only option. This one worked better for me, as her wings are pretty sturdy, and while she got a mark on her butt ( paint flacking off?) from when I took her out of package, accidentally removing her from her included clear pedestal, which evidently was meant to stay on, and had some kind of tiny mark or something on her back and a bit of bad paint on one leg, she was fine otherwise. I had envisioned my warlock (Diamond, a cat person, of tabaxi race) having a pixie patroness, Tantra, looking a lot like Zarina, the pirate fairy from Disney's Pirate Fairy film in Tinker bell series of direct to video films. As such, her hair should be brunette, not blond ... and wearing clothes. Thankfully, no one in my local comic Shoppe Adventure League seemed to perturbed by that, nor my mother, who is normally quite prudish. It turns out I misunderstood the role of the arch fey in writing the character, as I was really concerned with developing a reason for the two to form a pact, as the player's guide strongly encouraged. So I have developed quite a foundness for Tantra. I needed a base to cover up that bald spot on her butt, so thought of a die, a rock, or a thimble ... especially gambling themed, as her minion Diamond is a heavy gambler. The glue took quite well so far today, with no excess glue showing, unlike the standing fairy. The wings did slip off the other one today, sadly. As such, I likely will not try gluing them to a fully clothed HO figure.

If anyone wants to read more about Tantra and Diamond, let me know... I might post to Tumblr what I wrote ...

As my metal Reaper cat person figurine (made in the USA) had a devil of a time trying to stand up, despite my sanding the base, it was either go back to the mini Daisio maneki neko eraser (made in Japan) I had been using for Diamond the Delightful, my tabaxi warlock ( she has black with stripes of gold fur, so a black cat figure seemed best) or try out the Mega Blocks figure of Catrine de Mew, wearing her original doll release outfit. While bigger than I would like for D&D, she does for in the standard sqare for a normal humanoid character, and looks clawsome! Not only that but articulation is surprisingly good for a figure of this size, and unlike an actual feminine bodied Monster High doll, stands on her own just fine! I should be able to have her hold other Mega Blocks accessories like guns too, which would be fun. Sadly, unlike the other Mega Blocks werecats, her tail is a part of her dress, instead of a separate piece, and her boots are painted onto the legs, rather than snap on pieces like the slightly taller micro dolls out on shelves for Disney Princesses and other brands. I don't want to bother with painting a figure that can't stand up right, or use a figurine of a traditional greeting cat figure again, so this should do fine.

Don't mind me, just trying a new kind of setup for my MOCs.

After a wizard ran away with a special book in hands, only a tabaxi can help guiding through these abandoned lands.

As of last year we started playing DnD with an RL group, and on my second character created a Tabaxi at some point. I went with a dancing chaotic paladin. In 5e this is allowed.

Needed a profile pic for DnD beyond so thought where better to create that than SL?
