Medical syringe with droplet that measures 1.5 inches in length. This shot proved to be a very easy stack to produce but getting the lighting right was another story. I kept trying things with my light tent but there were just too many reflections. I finally waited until dark, turned off all the house lights, ditched the light tent and went with a single light off to the left behind a white diffuser panel and black boards placed around the syringe. It worked out (for the most part). An earlier shot was used in "Get Vaccinated...A Pattern" and if you zoom in you can see many of the undesirable reflections in the glass of the syringe.

A bit repetitive but I liked the pattern that emerged as I kept folding, distorting and tiling the sample of a syringe image!

My senior cat (12 years) became a diabetic 2 years ago. Recently she has developed an aversion to her second insulin shot of the day. As the time approaches for it, she goes into hiding. Amazing how she can tell time!

My neighbor found this little boy kitten abandoned on his doorstep on Wednesday. At about a week old, I've agreed to syringe/bottle feed him until he is weaned, when the neighbor will take him back. Quite time consuming because of feeding frequency. 😊
A syringe with water drop pushed out by tiny plunger for MacroMondays theme of PushPull this week.
I took many photos. One with eye-wash foam dribbling out won't even get posted. Usually it pours out in a nice, large sudsy foam! Another with a spray of water we use for indoor houseplants. That won't appear.
Oh well, it was fun to try all of these. Messy, but fun. Thanks for looking.

Syringes for Etta's medication kept separate for cleaning and to stop cross-contamination. Glass bottles are ideal for this purpose. (Left ear/Right ear with Red ribbon; Pain-killer for the mouth).

In that summer cafe in Moscow, an Aperol Syringe cocktail is served, which is a low-alcohol drink originally from Venice. Strobist/technical info:
The scene is an 8-image focus stack composite. It was illuminated by a Nikon SB700 and two SB900 speedlights. The SB900s were placed CL/CR and fired in Manual mode @ ½ power through Neewer 24" soft boxes. The SB700 was placed at 8-o'clock and fired in Manual mode @ ⅛ power through a snoot with a blue gel attached.
The SB900s were triggered by PockWizard Plus Xs; the SB700 was in SU-4 mode and triggered by the other speedlights.
Lens: reverse-mounted Nikon EL - Nikkor 50mm/f2.8 attached to a bellows extended 131mm.
