My updated
Cyberpunk/Synthwave skybox set in a dystopic version of Paris. I was inspired by the "Italie 13" project under President Georges Pompidou, who ran on whisky, smoked two packs of Gauloises a day and drove an Aston Martin.
No more little cobbled streets, little street lamps, statues, bullshit. The future is speed, verticality, and reinforced concrete for him.
Pompidou foresaw a cyberpunk future, with the elite living on the top floors of cyclopean skyscrapers while low-caste gangs kill each other in the lower stratum maze to control spice and soma trafficking.
In 1974, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing abandoned this futuristic project to return to a "more traditional city policy". Goodbye Blade Runner, hello Amélie Poulain. Only remains from this project is the "13th Arrondissement de Paris" aka Paris' Chinatown.
September could be a busy month so I'm starting two weeks early, aiming to finish by the 15/9/16. Yep definitely that and not that I just couldn't wait any longer...Yep...Hopefully she'll be a blend of NASA and Star Trek. Well, better fire up some rockin' synthwave then!

Oh. My. This shoot was months in the making. So many custom and customized pieces. Absolutely zero edits made on all of the photos in the set. That's not all though. I couldn't have finished this set the way I wanted if it were not for the staff and builders over at Dak Future 24XX and the amazing work they did building their sim. This was one of the photographs I wanted to make long before I even boarded the plane to Japan.
I had seen this location years ago in another photographer's work. After quite a bit of research, I finally figured out where it was. Standing there for the first time felt strangely familiar, as if I had already been there countless times in my imagination. The only thing missing was rain, which would have made the scene even stronger—but photography always leaves something to come back for.
What caught my attention wasn't just the cityscape. It was the man standing alone on the staircase, taking a cigarette break while looking out over the street below. He has become the anchor of the composition. You can't help but wonder what he's thinking or where he's is about to go, but the image never answers those questions. That's exactly what I like about it.
For me, Tokyo has a unique ability to blur the line between past and future. This scene immediately takes me back to the late 1980s, when I spent countless hours behind my first computer, learning BASIC, discovering electronic music, playing early video games, and being fascinated by every new piece of technology that appeared. Looking back, it was a time when the future seemed endlessly exciting.
That feeling is one of the reasons I keep returning to Japan. Especially Tokyo. It isn't about nostalgia for the city itself, but for the optimism that defined that era. Somehow, certain places in Tokyo still capture that feeling better than anywhere else I've been.
Whenever I look at this photograph, I can almost hear the distant hum of the city blending with the soundtrack in my head. For a brief moment, the years between then and now seem to disappear.

After countless hours of work I was finally able to finish my Countach model. I really wanted to do the new iteration beside the original one.
These are currently "just" renders, but the real one was test built already and the instructions are in progress :P

I really wanted to take the time for making a new picture. Also to be updating my InWorld's profile image! because.. it's been a while... And it's been a year now in this journey through the metaverse. And so I thought, what better way to display (see the background?) how far I've come since the beginning?... From the whitenoises in my head flooded with.. thoughts and ideas, I found a path. And I took on this road to try and find something. Some happiness, as we all expect to reach and feel.
It's a journey, surely. With ups and downs. Moments to laugh about, to celebrate, but also lonely moments.. sad. And it's just how life is. And it's all about living and trying to make the most of it! ...At the end of the day, I am thankful for the friends I have made and the good experiences I had. Focused on the good vibes, the great memories. And looking forward.. for more great things to come and being in tune with it guarantees that whenever it happens, you're there to enjoy it.
But enough talk! ...It's been a good weekend, hanging out with friends, watching a movie, partying a little bit and just looking for fun things to do and cool places to explore. Flowing with the wave. So this post may as well serve as a commemoration of that. And may we all have more things to be proud about. Recently I've been getting really into synthwave, and as a consequence I learned of this sub-sect of the genre. I'm not saying I'm a nazi, but I can dig a few of the tracks I've come across. Decided to throw together a scene centred around the pun of the title.
Not satisfied with the finished product. I feel like I've been focusing so much on the shallow DoF "cine look" that I've unlearned how to get an entire scene in perfect sharp focus. The lighting and editing is also a little bear bones for my liking.
Its probably annoying hearing me critiquing myself with every post :L
I'd had another scene planned. Unfortunately I didn't realize my family's color printer is crap, and so I couldn't print out all the extra scene details I'd been sharing recently which I was going to have in it. Without having the extra details would just feel like the whole point of the scene was missing.

A design based on the famous Vic Vipers with an old-school color scheme straight from the 80s and the retro-futuristic aesthetic of Retrowave and Synthwave, this spaceship includes a cockpit where you can place 1 minifigure and features 2 wings composed of multiple ailerons and fins, as well as 2 long cannons for an sleek fighter with vibrant colors.
An intuitive building experience, ingenious and sturdy, perfect for hours of swooshing!
A tile on the stand can be removed to reveal a storage compartment where you can put the hair or the helmet of the pilot, the minifigure itself can be placed on the base of the stand, allowing you to create the perfect scene for your display!
