One of the voices on this Elka is bad. I thought it was the CEM 3396 chips but not really as it turns out. Still trying to figure out the cause.
Nice C64-like sounds ;-)
It can't match the real thing, but it comes close sometimes, or my memory is blurred.
I bought this on Ebay a couple of years back.
It is an extensively modified Stylophone, it has a second oscillator, variable vibrato speed, envelope and mixer section.
It only partly worked when when i got it but has now completely stopped working. I plan to repair it to it's former glory.
I have no idea who modified it or when, but the circuitry looks very old.
One question springs to mind, it is marked wke stylosynth B, who has the stylosynth A?
The Korg that Weebl gave me is coming together. I've just changed the 7915 and a suspect capacitor and given it a clean. I still need to replace the mains lead with a grey "Euro Korg" style 3 core lead and find some suitable replacements for the badly corroded screws. This is actually a 100V model for Japan that has had the transformer taps swapped over to allow it to operate on 230V.
I am probably going to leave the interesting paint job on the back panel as it is, or perhaps I'll see if I can get a suitable Korg sticker for it.
